Categories of library users
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The given pie chart illustrates the percentage of several types of library users. However, the given table shows level of satisfaction in terms of different facilities provided in the library.
Overall, number of full time undergraduate students who visit library is highest among the categories while very minute percentage of faculty visits library. Similary, most of the library users show full satifaction towards the services being provided by the library and few numbers showing dissatisfaction for the availabilty of journals and wifi.
The pie chart shows highest percentage of 44% for the full-time undergraduate students and 25% full-time postgraduate students, who frequently visit library. Meanwhile, category of library visitors comprises 16% of part-time postgraduates. Nevertheless, distance learners and academic staff do not pay often visits to library and show 8% and 7% respectively of the total vistors.
The table represents the percentage of library user satisfaction with most of the users either very satisfied or fairly satisfied. However, the only facility which has the highest satisfaction level of 95% with 0% of dissatisfaction is the helpfulness of staff. In addition, a significant percentile of visitors are not satisfied with the availablilty of journals and reliability of wifi depicting 20% and 19% respectively and least satisfied category with 48%. Moreover, percentage of fairly satisfied users remain stable for all facilties except for the helpfullness which shows only 5%.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You cover both visuals and provide a clear overview: undergraduates form the largest user group, while academic staff are the smallest, and satisfaction is generally positive. The figures you report for user categories are accurate, and you identify staff helpfulness as the strongest result and journals and Wi-Fi as areas with more dissatisfaction. This gives the response a clear, relevant account of the main features. Some comparisons are less fully developed, however. For example, the overview says users show “full satisfaction,” although the table distinguishes very satisfied from fairly satisfied, and the claim that fairly satisfied responses remain stable is not supported by the figures: they range from 5% to 40%. Also clarify that 48% refers to very satisfied users for Wi-Fi, rather than calling it the “least satisfied category.” More precise interpretation would strengthen the summary.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories, and one on satisfaction. This paragraphing helps the reader distinguish the two visuals, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Meanwhile,” and “In addition” make relationships between points visible. The organisation is coherent, but cohesion is not always fully controlled. “However” and “Nevertheless” sometimes introduce information that is not genuinely contrasting, and the final sentence combines a broad claim about stability with an exception without clearly explaining the comparison. Some references, such as “the only facility,” could also be made more precise by naming the measure as staff helpfulness. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each comparison directly to the relevant figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “percentage,” “satisfaction,” “dissatisfaction,” and “reliability,” so the main information is generally understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “full satisfaction” does not clearly distinguish the satisfaction categories, “pay often visits” is awkward, and “significant percentile” is not the appropriate expression for a proportion. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “Similary,” “satifaction,” “availabilty,” and “helpfullness.” Prefer straightforward, accurate language over inflated alternatives such as “depicting” or “percentile.” Careful proofreading and more natural collocations would make your vocabulary more effective and reliable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while” and “which,” and the overall meaning remains clear. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly with articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “visit library” needs an article, and “few numbers showing dissatisfaction” is not a complete, well-formed clause. In “percentage of fairly satisfied users remain stable,” the singular subject “percentage” requires a singular verb; the sentence also makes an inaccurate comparison. The opening “However” does not create a grammatical error, but the relationship between the two visuals would be clearer with a direct conjunction or separate sentence. Review articles and subject–verb agreement, and check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb.
