Student answer (Band 5.0)
The provided pie chart and table demonstrate the findings of survey that is taken from library users at a university. While the pie chart compares how many students have participated, the table illustrates the satisfaction of using the library.
Overall, it can be crearly seen that most of users are full-time undergraduate; however academic staff is the lowest. Moreover, by comparison, the percentage point of very satisfied of library services outweighs the propotion of not satisfied.
Full-time postgraduates are the second users who mostly use library by 25% and part-time postgraduate is the third by 16%. 8% of users are y-the distance learning pupils.
Another clearly seen result is 95% of studends really satisfied in helpfullness of staff of library.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the largest user group correctly (full-time undergraduates, 44%) and the smallest (academic staff, 7%), and you report the postgraduate groups in the right order. You also note the strong result for staff helpfulness. However, the response addresses the task only partially: it gives little information about the satisfaction table and omits key comparisons, including opening hours (65% very satisfied), books, journals and wi-fi. The overview that very satisfied users outweigh dissatisfied users is broadly supported, but it is not developed with clear evidence across the categories. The response is 30 words below the required minimum, which contributes to the limited coverage. Include a fuller overview and select several important figures from both visuals.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable sequence: an introduction, an overview, details about user categories, and a final point about staff helpfulness. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “Overall” and “Moreover” signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is limited because the table is almost entirely left out, and the final sentence introduces one satisfaction figure without connecting it to the other results. Some linking is also awkward, as in “Moreover, by comparison,” where the relationship is unclear. Organise the body into one paragraph on user categories and another comparing satisfaction results, using clear references such as “In contrast” or “By comparison” only where they accurately show the relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “full-time undergraduate,” “part-time postgraduate,” “percentage,” and “satisfied,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation and spelling problems reduce precision: “percentage point of very satisfied,” “students have participated,” “y-the distance learning pupils,” and “helpfullness” are not natural or accurate expressions in this context. “Library users” would be more suitable than “students” when describing all categories, since the chart also includes academic staff. Aim for standard chart language such as “accounted for,” “the proportion of users,” and “were very satisfied,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would make comparisons easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, for example the opening sentence with “While” and the overview beginning “Overall.” These attempts show some range, but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “findings of survey that is taken,” which needs appropriate articles and a more suitable verb form, and “most of users are full-time undergraduate,” where the noun phrase and agreement are not controlled. The sentence “95% of studends really satisfied” is missing a finite verb, while “the second users who mostly use library” has an unclear grammatical structure. Practise accurate article use, plural forms, and complete clauses before adding more complex linking structures.
