Academic staff was accounted for the smallest share of spending at 7%. While the distance learning to all courses were occupied by the remaining portion at 8%.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both visuals and identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates make up 44%, while academic staff are the smallest group at 7%. You also report the satisfaction figures for all five services, and the comparisons for staff helpfulness and opening hours are clear. However, the overview is quite general: it says only that the table records satisfaction, rather than highlighting that staff helpfulness receives the strongest approval and that journals attract the highest dissatisfaction. Some descriptions are also imprecise, such as calling the user categories “shares of spending”; these figures represent user groups, not expenditure. A sharper overview and more precise framing of the data would make the key features clearer and more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by a paragraph on user categories and one on satisfaction. This makes the two visuals easy to distinguish, and sequencing the satisfaction rows in order helps the reader follow the data. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, particularly through repeated patterns such as “accounted for,” “recorded,” and “only,” and the final paragraph becomes a long sequence of similar statements. The opening-hours sentence also leaves the reader to infer that the remaining 35% were fairly satisfied. Use a wider range of linking and comparison structures, and group related results—for example, contrasting the two strongest satisfaction results with the less positive ratings—to create smoother progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “bulk share,” “significant share,” “satisfaction level,” and “reliability,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are, however, several inaccurate or unnatural choices. “Share of spending” misrepresents the chart, while “made up for a significant share” and “were occupied by the remaining portion” are awkward collocations. “Internet” is less precise than the table’s “wi-fi,” and “satisfied” is used where “very satisfied” would preserve the category label. Aim for accurate reporting verbs and natural chart language, such as “accounted for,” “represented,” and “the proportion who were very satisfied.” This would improve precision without requiring more elaborate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including the overview sentence beginning “Overall” and the contrast introduced by “While.” The main information remains understandable, but some errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction persist. For example, “The pie chart and table illustrates” uses a singular verb with a compound subject, and “the library users satisfaction level” needs a possessive form. Several table descriptions are also awkwardly constructed, as in “the library opening hours 65% were satisfied” and “the availability of journals stood at 45% were satisfied.” These patterns make some sentences less controlled. Build complete clauses with a clear subject and verb—for example, “65% were very satisfied with the opening hours”—and check agreement and possessives.
