Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify both parts of the visual and include several relevant figures, such as 7% for academic staff, 8% for distance learners and 95% for staff helpfulness. However, the response gives no clear overview of the main patterns, and some figures or labels are misreported: full-time undergraduates are 44%, not 25%, and opening-hours satisfaction is 65%, not 60%. The satisfaction figures are also repeatedly assigned to the wrong categories—for example, books are 50% very satisfied, 40% fairly satisfied and 10% not satisfied. The final sentence adds no useful summary. The response is also 39 words below the required minimum, leaving the task substantially underdeveloped. Select the main contrasts, report them accurately and explain the overall picture.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to move from the user categories to satisfaction results, and phrases such as “to commance” and “to explain” signal an intended sequence. However, the response is largely one long, crowded block, so the reader has difficulty separating the chart from the table or following the comparisons. The opening and closing sentences are vague, and “for example” does not introduce a clear example. Several figures run together without consistent punctuation or linking, while the repeated list-like structure gives little progression. Use separate paragraphs for the two visuals, add a concise overview, and group related satisfaction results into clear sentences with accurate reference to each category.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The response uses a small set of task-related terms, including “categories,” “distance learning,” “postgraduate,” and “satisfied,” so the topic is recognisable. However, vocabulary is basic and often inaccurately spelled or formed: “chat” appears to mean “chart,” “laibery” for “library,” “catoragies” for “categories,” and “verified” for “very.” These errors, alongside phrases such as “the below of survey” and “many things involving of this chat,” make the message difficult to understand. Some labels are also repeated rather than expressed with precise reporting language. Practise accurate spelling of chart terminology and use straightforward collocations such as “the proportion of users” and “were very satisfied” to communicate the data more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The response attempts a few sentence forms, but most information is presented as fragments or as a single run-on sequence rather than in controlled sentences. The opening, “the chat and the table shows the below of survey,” has problems with sentence construction and subject–verb agreement; later, “academy staff7%” lacks a grammatical link between the category and its figure. Commas and full stops are often missing, making it unclear where one comparison ends and another begins. There is little evidence of accurate complex structures, and the final sentence, “This chat discuss about to user,” is not grammatically complete. Build short, complete sentences first—for example, “Academic staff account for 7% of users”—then combine related information with accurate punctuation.
