The pie chart shows the proportion of different types of library users, while the table illustrates their satisfaction level with various services of the library.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify both visuals and give a relevant overview: undergraduates form the largest group, and staff helpfulness and opening hours receive the strongest satisfaction. However, several key figures are inaccurate: undergraduates are 44%, not 54%, and part-time postgraduates are 16%, not 18%; they are not the smallest group, since academic staff account for 7%. The satisfaction summary also blurs the categories: opening hours are 65% very satisfied, while staff helpfulness reaches 95%, not merely 60–70%. The statement that only “a little number” are dissatisfied overlooks the contrast between 0% for two services and 19–20% for wi-fi and journals. The response is also 8 words below the required minimum. Include accurate comparisons and a fuller account of the main satisfaction patterns.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for user categories and satisfaction. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “In detail,” and “Regarding satisfaction” make the progression easy to follow, and the reader can distinguish the two sets of information. To make the organisation more effective, group related comparisons more explicitly and ensure each paragraph develops a clear point—for example, contrast the highest satisfaction for staff with the lower results for journals and wi-fi. There are a few presentation issues, including the missing space after “25%.” before “Distance learning,” and the final satisfaction paragraph moves quickly through several services without a clear ranking. Overall, the sequence is logical, though some links and comparisons could be more carefully managed.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “account for,” “satisfaction level,” and “reliability,” and the meaning is generally clear. Some choices are imprecise or unnatural, however. “The majority of users” is not accurate for 44%, and “3 times higher” is an awkward way to express a comparison. “A little number” is not a natural collocation; “a small proportion” would be more suitable. The phrase “users were satisfied” also merges the table’s distinct “very satisfied” and “fairly satisfied” categories, reducing precision. Aim for vocabulary that describes the data exactly, such as “largest group,” “twice as high,” or “combined satisfaction,” where appropriate. These refinements would improve precision and naturalness without requiring unnecessarily complex wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast in “while the table illustrates…” and the relative clause “which is 3 times higher…”. Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation slips are present. In “part-time postgraduate are the smallest group,” the plural subject needs a plural form, and “which is 3 times higher than part-time postgraduates which is 18%” has an unclear, awkward clause structure. Add a space after the full stop in “25%.Distance learning,” and use a comma after introductory phrases where needed. The sentence “for availability of journals and books 45% and 50% users were satisfied” also needs clearer grammatical framing, such as “For journals and books, 45% and 50% of users, respectively, were very satisfied.” Greater control of agreement and sentence boundaries would strengthen accuracy.
