Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You report the main user groups and include the key percentages, correctly identifying full-time undergraduates as the largest group and academic staff as the smallest. You also cover all five satisfaction categories and accurately give the figures for books, journals and Wi-Fi. However, the overview is unclear: “more amout of use and satisfied is full-time undergraduates and helpfulness of staff” combines two different findings and does not clearly summarise the strongest satisfaction patterns. The opening-hours and staff-helpfulness results are reported, but the table’s overall contrast—that staff helpfulness and opening hours receive especially high satisfaction, while journals and Wi-Fi attract the most dissatisfaction—could be stated more clearly. Some details are presented as a list rather than interpreted or compared.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on user categories, a paragraph on satisfaction, and a concluding overview. This makes the information broadly easy to locate. Sequencing within the paragraphs is also generally sensible, moving from the largest user group to smaller ones and then through the table. However, linking phrases such as “to begin with,” “moreover,” and “furthermore” sometimes feel mechanical, and the final “Overall” sentence does not clearly connect or summarise the preceding findings. The long table sentence beginning “Furthermore, the categories…” is difficult to follow because several sets of figures are packed together. Use clearer topic sentences and separate comparisons into shorter, logically connected sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “full-time undergraduate,” “fairly satisfied,” “availability,” and “reliability,” and the reader can usually identify the intended categories. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors reduce precision. For example, “the categories who use more” is an awkward way to describe the largest user group, while “used up to 8% and 7% only” does not naturally express the proportions. There are also misspellings such as “Superisingly,” “catagories,” “avability,” and “amout.” Aim for accurate chart language such as “accounted for,” “represented,” and “the proportion of users,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a comparison with “whereas” and a concluding sentence introduced by “Overall.” However, control is inconsistent, and several sentence structures are faulty or incomplete. The opening, “The given chart and table illustrates the outcome of the survey of library that the use during the period of the university,” has unclear clause structure and agreement; “chart and table” also requires a plural verb. In “helpfulness of staff is the very satisfied,” the relationship between the category and the satisfaction result is not expressed grammatically. The long sentence listing three categories and three satisfaction levels is also difficult to parse. Practise clear patterns such as “X was rated very satisfactory by…” and use shorter sentences to control agreement, articles, and punctuation.
