Categories of library users
Student answer (Band 6.0)
There are two charts shown in the following task, the fisrt pie chart marks the percentage of categories of library users and the second table measures the satisfaction percentage of the library users for distinct categories.
Overall, in the users chart the highest percentage number accumulated for full time undergraduates and the lowest percentage was counted of academic staff. On the otherhand in the percentage of satisfaction the highest satisfaction by the users was shown about the helpfullness of staff and the availability of journals was the thing they were least satisfied about.
The highest percentage of library users were the full-time undergraduates accounting for 44% of the total users. Following them were full time post graduates 25%, almost half of the highest. On the third in percentage were the part-time postgraduates almot 16%. After them were distance learners and acadamic staff , roughly equal to each other with a percentage of 8 and 7 percent respectively.
On the other hand in the chart of satisfatction reported by the library users, the highest percentage of users was united on the helpfullness of the staff with 95%.Almost no one was unsatisfied about the this and the library opening hours. Half of the users almot 50% were satisfied about the availability of books in the library. Availibility of the wifi and journals had the users roughly equally satisfied with 48 and 45 percent. Second to the helping staff were the opening hours of the library which made around 65 percent of users satisfied.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both visuals and identify the main user group and the strongest and weakest satisfaction results. The figures for user categories are reported accurately, and you correctly note that staff helpfulness leads at 95% and opening hours are also rated highly. However, the overview says users were least satisfied with journals, whereas the table shows books have the lowest dissatisfaction (10%) and journals the highest dissatisfaction (20%); more importantly, wi-fi dissatisfaction is close at 19%. The account also treats the 50% very-satisfied figure for books as overall satisfaction, without including the 40% fairly satisfied. To make the summary more complete, distinguish satisfaction levels and compare the less positive results across books, journals and wi-fi.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for user categories and satisfaction. This makes the two visuals easy to follow, and phrases such as “Following them” and “On the other hand” help signal progression. However, some linking is mechanical or imprecise: “On the other hand” is used to introduce the second visual rather than a direct contrast, and “Second to the helping staff” is unclear as a comparison. The satisfaction paragraph also moves between staff helpfulness, opening hours, books, wi-fi and journals without a consistent ranking or grouping. Organise this section around the strongest ratings first, then the more mixed results, and use clearer references to the table’s satisfaction categories.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for describing charts, including “accounting for,” “percentage,” “satisfied,” and “availability,” so the main information is generally understandable. There are also attempts at varied phrasing, such as “the highest percentage” and “roughly equal.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise: “percentage number accumulated,” “united on,” and “satisfied about” do not express the data naturally. “The thing they were least satisfied about” is also informal for an academic summary. Spelling errors such as “fisrt,” “helpfullness,” “satisfatction,” and “availibility” reduce accuracy. Use standard chart language such as “accounted for,” “rated,” and “were satisfied with,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including the overview beginning “Overall” and the comparison “After them were distance learners and academic staff.” Most sentences communicate the intended point, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems remain. For example, “The highest percentage of library users were” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “the lowest percentage was counted of academic staff” has an unclear construction. In “Almost no one was unsatisfied about the this,” the article is duplicated and the preposition pattern is incorrect. Several sentences also run together after full stops, as in “95%.Almost,” and commas are missing around some introductory phrases. Review agreement, articles and sentence boundaries, while retaining the range of sentence forms you are attempting.
