Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the main user group correctly as full-time undergraduates (44%) and the smallest as academic staff (7%), and you report all five user-category figures accurately. However, the response gives little overview of the satisfaction results and includes a significant misinterpretation: 45% were very satisfied with journal availability, not “very dissatisfied”; the dissatisfied figure is 20%. The statement that users were fairly satisfied with books cites 40%, but omits that half were very satisfied. Other important comparisons, such as the 95% very satisfied with staff helpfulness and the 65% satisfied with opening hours, are not developed. The task is therefore addressed only partially, with key information selected but limited and sometimes inaccurate reporting.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure: it introduces the visuals, describes the user categories, and then turns to satisfaction. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “Looking more details” and “Basically” signal a move between points. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and the satisfaction section lists a few observations without a clear comparison or summary. Several ideas are repeated, including the user categories and their percentages, while linking is often mechanical. The final paragraph would be clearer if it grouped the strongest satisfaction results separately from the weaker ones and used explicit comparisons. Overall, there is some organisation, but the sequence and connections between ideas are not consistently clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough task-related vocabulary to identify the chart categories and satisfaction factors, including “full-time undergraduate,” “availability of journals,” and “reliability of wifi.” Some wording also attempts to describe proportions, such as “highest percentage” and “one forth part.” However, several expressions are repetitive or imprecise: “users who use library” is awkward, and “45%” is incorrectly described as “very dissatisfied,” which affects the accuracy of the message. “The sum of all users percentage” is also an unnatural way to report the total. Aim for concise, conventional chart language and distinguish clearly between satisfaction levels. For example, use “accounted for” when describing shares and “very satisfied” only for the relevant table category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response mainly uses simple sentence patterns, with some attempts to add detail through clauses and lists. Meaning is generally recoverable, but frequent errors in sentence formation and agreement make the writing less controlled. For example, “The pie chart and table below presents” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “The users is fairly satisfied” has the same problem. The fragment “The satisfaction percentage of library users on five different factors…” lacks a main verb, and punctuation is often missing after introductory phrases and between list items. Work on complete sentences, plural agreement, and accurate verb forms; then combine related points using controlled complex structures. These changes would make the information easier to follow.
