Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5

You address both visuals and provide a clear overview of the main patterns: full-time undergraduates form the largest user group, staff helpfulness receives the strongest satisfaction, and journals attract the most dissatisfaction. The figures you report are accurate, and the body includes useful comparisons across user categories and satisfaction ratings. This gives the response strong coverage and relevant support. To make the summary more fully developed, sharpen the overview by comparing satisfaction across the other categories too—for example, opening hours also receive a high very-satisfied rating, while books and Wi-Fi have similar profiles. Avoid describing several groups as simply “least” when their proportions differ; identify them as the smaller categories and retain the exact ranking.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories, and a final paragraph on satisfaction. The sequence is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Overall,” “At first,” and “Finally” help guide the reader. However, some linking is mechanical or imprecise: “At first” suggests a sequence that is not present in the chart, while “Then” and “However” do not express meaningful relationships between the categories. The final paragraph also becomes a long list of figures, with repeated sentence patterns. Grouping the satisfaction results into clearer comparisons—such as the two categories with no dissatisfaction, followed by the three with some dissatisfaction—would improve progression and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main information, and you use relevant terms such as “categories,” “percentage,” and “availability.” However, several word choices and collocations are noticeably unnatural, which limits precision: “the things which satisfied… the users,” “largest amount of users,” and “least user containing categories” are awkward. “Most unsatisfied thing” is also less appropriate than a phrase describing the highest dissatisfaction. There are spelling and word-form errors, including “propotion” and “libray,” and “satisfied” is repeated frequently. Use more precise chart language, such as “proportion,” “user group,” “rated very satisfied,” and “highest level of dissatisfaction,” while checking spelling and avoiding repeated wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “the helpfulness of staff satisfied them most” does not clearly express the table’s rating, and “The library opening hours and helpfulness of staff both has” should use a plural verb. In “The availability of books… has’ very satisfied users,” the apostrophe is incorrect and the sentence structure is faulty. The opening description also needs a more accurate grammatical construction: the table reports satisfaction ratings for aspects of the library, rather than things that “satisfied” users. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build comparisons with consistent patterns, such as “X had…, while Y had…”.
