Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates make up 44%, while academic staff are the smallest group at 7%. You also select useful satisfaction comparisons, including the strong result for staff helpfulness and the weaker ratings for journals and Wi-Fi. However, there is a significant factual error: opening hours had 65% very satisfied, not 95%; 95% applies to staff helpfulness. The overview also says journals and Wi-Fi receive the lowest approval, but does not clearly distinguish their different results or mention that journals had the highest dissatisfaction (20%). The response covers both visuals and gives a relevant overview, but some comparisons are unclear or insufficiently developed. Check each figure against the table and report the satisfaction categories precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories and one on satisfaction. This makes the two visuals easy to follow, and signposts such as “Overall,” “Among user categories” and “Regarding satisfaction” help guide the reader. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “While” and “Whereas” in the overview, where the relationships between ideas are not always clear. The final paragraph also moves quickly between staff helpfulness, journals, Wi-Fi and opening hours, and the incorrect opening-hours figure disrupts the comparison. Use clearer links to group the strongest and weakest satisfaction results, and ensure each sentence connects logically to the point before it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of task-appropriate terms, including “proportion,” “largest users group,” “negative feedback” and “satisfaction,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, spelling errors are frequent and sometimes make the reader pause: “categegories,” “consitute,” “academci,” “reilability” and “Smimlaraly.” Several word combinations are also unnatural, such as “the satisfied user of library,” “domin ent among all of the user” and “notable diconect.” These errors limit precision and make the vocabulary less controlled, despite some suitable choices. Focus on accurate spelling and standard collocations, for example “library users,” “account for the largest share,” and “dissatisfaction with Wi-Fi reliability.” Proofreading would help your vocabulary choices communicate the data more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and some attempts at more complex structures, such as “While the academci staff are the smallest” and “Regarding staisfaction, helpfulness staff stands out…” However, several sentences are incomplete or have faulty clause structure. “While table showed the satisfied user of library” is a fragment, and “The relatively small proportion of academic staff 7%,.” lacks a complete verb structure. Articles and agreement also need attention: use “the table,” “full-time undergraduates constitute,” and “the proportion of academic staff is 7%.” Punctuation is sometimes inaccurate, including the comma and full stop after “7%.” These recurring errors make some relationships harder to follow. Practise complete sentences with accurate articles, plural forms and subject–verb agreement, while retaining your attempts at varied structures.
