Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
The response selects the main features and reports the figures accurately. It identifies full-time undergraduates as the largest group (44%), contrasts this with academic staff (7%), and highlights the strong ratings for staff helpfulness and opening hours alongside greater dissatisfaction with books, journals and Wi-Fi. The overview is clear and relevant, and the details support it with appropriate comparisons, including the 95% very satisfied rating for staff and the 20% dissatisfaction figure for journals. This gives the reader a well-rounded summary of both visuals. To make the account even more complete, you could compare the satisfaction categories across all services more explicitly—for example, noting that books had the highest “very satisfied” share among the resources, while Wi-Fi had a slightly higher very-satisfied figure than journals.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response is organised in a clear sequence: an introduction identifies both visuals, an overview summarises the main patterns, and the final paragraphs provide demographic and satisfaction details. This progression makes the information easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Regarding,” and “In contrast” help signal shifts between points. The comparisons are generally placed where readers expect them. Some transitions and punctuation are less controlled, however: the long satisfaction paragraph moves from staff to opening hours and then resources with limited separation, and several sentences run directly into the next because spaces after commas and full stops are missing. Use consistent sentence spacing and consider separating the service comparisons more clearly to make cohesion smoother and less dependent on basic signposting.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a suitable range of task-related vocabulary, including “distribution,” “accounted for,” “proportions,” “dissatisfaction,” and “respondents.” Phrases such as “the single largest user base” and “ratings were more mixed” also help describe the data rather than merely list figures. However, spelling errors and some imprecise or awkward collocations limit the accuracy of this range: “diffrent,” “staisfaction,” “constitude,” and “reliabiliy” are examples, while “library patron” is not natural in this context and “entirely positive feedback” is slightly broad. Proofread carefully and favour standard chart-reporting phrases. For instance, “library users” is clearer than “library patron,” and “no respondents were dissatisfied” states the opening-hours result more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
There is a useful mix of sentence forms, including a complex opening sentence with “while,” a comparative overview, and clauses introduced by “whereas” and “with.” Most relationships between ideas remain understandable, and the response communicates the data clearly. Some grammatical and punctuation errors nevertheless reduce control. For example, “full time students made up the vast majority of library patron” has a number-agreement problem, and “with 95%of respondents” lacks spacing and punctuation. Several sentence boundaries are also unclear, as in “35% faily satified.in contrast,” where a full stop is not followed by a space or a capital letter. Check singular/plural agreement and proofread sentence boundaries; these corrections would make the varied structures more consistently accurate.
