Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both visuals and provide a relevant overview: undergraduates form the largest user group, while academic staff and distance learners are the smallest, and staff helpfulness receives the strongest satisfaction ratings. Most figures are reported accurately, including the user-group percentages and the satisfaction breakdowns. The comparison of books, journals and Wi-Fi also identifies the areas with more dissatisfaction. However, the overview could be more precise: “postgraduate” combines full-time and part-time groups, and the claim that these groups are “commonly using” the library is not directly shown by the chart. The statement that part-time postgraduates visit “once a week” is unsupported. To strengthen the response, describe the categories as proportions of users and make the key satisfaction contrast explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction and overview are followed by one paragraph on the chart and one on the table. Sequencing phrases such as “Looking first” and “Turning to the table” help readers follow the shift between visuals, and the main comparisons are generally easy to locate. Some linking is mechanical, however, particularly the repeated use of “while” and the long final sentence that lists several satisfaction figures in one sequence. The overview also moves quickly from user categories to satisfaction without clearly signalling that these are separate findings. Use shorter, more controlled comparisons and group the table data into the strongest ratings and the areas with notable dissatisfaction; this would make progression smoother and references clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “survey,” “satisfaction,” “availability,” and “reliability,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. However, the range and control are limited by repeated or imprecise expressions such as “commonly using library,” “least visiting,” and “very satisfied by.” Several spelling errors—“satisfication,” “helpfullness,” “Distnace,” “satified,” “jounals,” and “availablity”—are noticeable and weaken the accuracy of the report. Some wording also suggests information not shown, as in “once a week.” Aim for precise chart language such as “accounted for,” “the largest share,” and “were rated very satisfactory,” while checking spelling and choosing collocations that describe proportions rather than frequency of visits.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the paragraphing helps contain the information. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, with errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction. For example, “The charts illustrates” has subject–verb disagreement, while “Academic staff and distance learning were least visiting” uses an unsuitable verb construction. In “Full-time undergraduate and postgraduate are commonly used library by,” the sentence structure and passive form are faulty. The final table sentence also becomes difficult to control as several clauses and figures are joined together. Practise accurate plural subjects and concise comparison patterns, such as “Undergraduates accounted for 44%, compared with 25% for full-time postgraduates,” and use full stops to separate the table’s main findings.
