Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several important features, including the dominance of full-time undergraduates (44%), the small distance-learning group (8%), and high satisfaction with staff helpfulness. However, the overview is incomplete and some comparisons are inaccurate or unclear. The chart shows distance learners are the smallest group, but the response calls them students who “visits the library least,” which confuses user-category share with frequency of visits. The table’s strongest contrast—95% very satisfied with staff versus lower ratings for journals and wi-fi—could be reported more clearly. The claim that “many” are satisfied with books is vague, and the 35% figure is attached ambiguously to opening hours and journals. Select key figures accurately and summarise the main patterns before adding details.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph of details. This gives the reader some sense of how the information is organised. However, progression within the final paragraph is difficult to follow because user-category data and satisfaction results are mixed together, and several comparisons are not clearly linked to their subjects. Connectors such as “However,” “Additionally,” and “To continue with” are used, but some feel mechanical or do not clarify the relationship between points. For example, the sentence beginning “Also 35% people…” combines opening hours and journals without making the comparison precise. Group the pie-chart figures together, then report the satisfaction table in a logical order, using clear references to each category.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt task-related vocabulary, including “satisfaction,” “availability,” “reliability,” and “distance learning,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and frequent spelling and word-choice problems reduce precision: “pia chart,” “baground,” “deatiled,” “satisfication,” and “satisfaied” make the writing less clear. Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “helpfulness nature of library staff” and “students who choosen distance learning method.” Use standard chart language and accurate collocations, for example, “the proportion of users,” “were very satisfied with,” and “the availability of books.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise terms for percentages would make the report easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You make some attempts to combine ideas using subordinate clauses and contrast, as in “while few of them not satisfied with books availability.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make several sentences awkward or difficult to interpret. Examples include “majority of students are belong,” “students who choosen,” and “part time postgraduate use the library most,” which show problems with verb forms, agreement, and articles. The final sentence also has unclear sentence structure, particularly around “35% people are fairly satisfied opening hours and journals availability.” Practise accurate simple comparisons first, then add complex clauses while checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation.
