Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several important features, including the largest user group (full-time undergraduates, 44%), the high satisfaction with staff helpfulness (95%), and the strong result for opening hours (65%). You also note that wi-fi has the highest dissatisfaction, which is supported by the figures. However, the overview is partly unclear: “full time graduate” misidentifies the largest group, and the satisfaction overview does not clearly compare the generally positive ratings with the lower results for journals and wi-fi. The table discussion is incomplete and ends mid-thought (“Where as, just abover quater demonstrated by journal availability”), leaving some figures and comparisons unexplained. More accurate group labels and a complete summary of the main satisfaction patterns would make the response more fully address the task.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction and overview are followed by separate paragraphs about the chart and table. This gives the reader a basic route through the information, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “In contrast,” and “Meanwhile” help signal relationships. However, progression becomes less clear in the final paragraph, where several satisfaction figures are crowded into one sentence and the final clause is unfinished. Some connections are also imprecise, such as “followed by” when listing values that are not necessarily a sequence. Organise the table figures into clearer comparisons—for example, the highest satisfaction results first, then the weaker journal and wi-fi results—and ensure each paragraph reaches a complete point.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “considerable proportion,” “vast majority,” “reliability,” and “satisfaction,” and the intended meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts to vary phrasing rather than repeat “users.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “a research on outcomes,” “membership by” students, and “demonstrated a considerable proportion.” Spelling errors in “satified,” “wiifi,” and “liberary” also reduce accuracy. Use standard chart language consistently: describe groups as “accounting for” a percentage and ratings as “respondents were satisfied with” a feature. More precise collocations and careful proofreading would strengthen the vocabulary control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast structure beginning “while” and clauses introduced by “which.” However, grammatical control is uneven, and some errors make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “The given pie chart and table illustrates” has subject–verb disagreement, while “there was majority of full time graduate” lacks an article and uses an unclear noun phrase. The long sentence beginning “the vast majority was provided” is also structurally difficult to interpret, and the final sentence fragment is incomplete. Practise accurate sentence patterns for reporting data, check singular and plural agreement, and divide long lists into complete sentences.
