Categories of library users
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The pie chart and a tabular data demonstrates the outcome of a survey. About the users of library in the university. The pie chart show the category of users while the table reflects the satisfaction level of the users about several things of the library.
Firstly, in the pie chart 44% of the users are full-time undergraduate. The second categoie we have is the full-time postgraduate the they are 25% of the users. Moreover we have 16% of the part-time postgraduates as well along with that we have a 8% users which are learners of all courses. And the rest of the 7% are the academic staff in the library users.
In tabular data, 100% of the people are satistied with the opening hours as they are with helpfulness of the staff. However there are 10% of people that are not satisfied with the availability of books. Moreover we have 80% of users that are satisfied with the present journals while the rest are not. At the end the reliability of wi-fi are questionable by the 19% users while the rest are okay with it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify both visuals and report several key figures accurately, including the largest user group (44% full-time undergraduates) and the 25% full-time postgraduate share. You also note that all respondents were satisfied with opening hours and staff helpfulness. However, the response does not provide a clear overall summary of the main patterns, and some comparisons are incomplete or imprecise. For example, saying 100% were “satisfied” with opening hours and staff combines very satisfied and fairly satisfied without explaining the split; the table shows 65/35 and 95/5 respectively. The statement that 80% are satisfied with journals is broadly correct, but the satisfaction levels are not distinguished. A clearer overview and more precise reporting of the table’s contrasts would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on user categories, and a final paragraph about satisfaction. This gives the reader a generally coherent route through the two visuals. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “However” help signal relationships, and the figures are mostly grouped by chart and table. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, and several links are unclear or awkward, such as “the second categoie we have is … the they are 25%” and “At the end … while the rest are okay with it.” The opening also breaks one idea into two sentences (“The outcome of a survey. About the users…”). Use complete, connected sentences and organise the table details into clearer comparisons.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main subject, including “full-time undergraduate,” “satisfaction level,” “opening hours,” and “reliability of wi-fi.” Some variation is also attempted through phrases such as “reflects” and “availability.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or informal, which makes parts of the report less precise. “Tabular data” is less natural here than “the table,” while “present journals” does not clearly express satisfaction with journal availability. “Okay with it” is too conversational for an academic summary, and “questionable by the 19% users” is not an appropriate way to describe dissatisfaction. Aim for precise reporting language such as “rated,” “were satisfied with,” and “were dissatisfied with”; check spelling and word forms as well.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the reader can usually understand the intended comparisons. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, with errors in agreement, sentence boundaries, articles, and clause construction. For example, “The pie chart and a tabular data demonstrates” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an incorrect article, while “The pie chart show” also needs agreement. The fragment “About the users of library in the university” should be joined to the preceding sentence. In “the full-time postgraduate the they are 25%,” the clauses are not correctly connected, and “the reliability of wi-fi are” has a singular–plural mismatch. Practise accurate sentence patterns for describing figures, especially subject–verb agreement and joining clauses with appropriate punctuation.
