Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover both the user categories and satisfaction table, and report several key figures accurately, including 44% for full-time undergraduates, 25% for full-time postgraduates, and the satisfaction results for opening hours and staff helpfulness. However, some information is misreported: the 16% group is part-time postgraduate users, not “part-time undergraduate” users, and the 7% academic staff figure does not mean staff manage records and books. The response also lacks a clear overview of the main patterns, such as undergraduates forming the largest user group and staff helpfulness receiving the strongest satisfaction. Some interpretations, such as suggesting dissatisfied users could not find books, are unsupported. Select the main comparisons and summarise them without adding explanations not shown by the data.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic sequence: it first describes user categories and then moves to satisfaction, so the reader can identify the two parts of the visual. However, progression within these sections is uneven, and the repeated transitions “Then” and “Next” make the account feel like a list rather than a connected summary. The opening includes general commentary about students studying in the library, which does not help organise the data. Paragraphing is limited, and phrases such as “The informs about the library user satisfation lets discuss in detail” do not clearly signal the relationship between ideas. Group related satisfaction results and use precise links such as “By contrast” or “Regarding facilities” to make comparisons easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “library users,” “satisfied,” “availability,” and “reliability,” which allows the main subject to be understood. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning unclear. For example, “the 65% of user full satisfaied” is not a natural way to describe the result, while “just agree” incorrectly describes people who are fairly satisfied. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “numorous,” “sinificient,” and “satisfation.” Aim for accurate, repeated-use terms from the chart, such as “very satisfied,” “fairly satisfied,” and “not satisfied,” and check spelling carefully. Avoid informal or unsupported phrases such as “create a good impact.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response communicates many figures, but grammatical control is inconsistent and errors often make sentences difficult to read. Subject–verb agreement is faulty in “This survey illustrate,” and sentence structure is incomplete or awkward in “That enhance that there is 7% staff” and “The informs about the library user satisfation lets discuss in detail.” Articles, plurals, and verb forms are also unreliable, as in “the 65% of user” and “50% usesr satisfied.” Most sentences follow a simple pattern, while attempts to combine ideas often produce faulty constructions. Practise writing clear comparative sentences with a subject and verb, for example, “Staff helpfulness received the highest satisfaction rating, at 95%.” Use full stops to separate complete ideas and check agreement and articles.
