Student answer (Band 6.0)

The pie charts depicts the proportion of the library users of 5 different categories at a university and table demonstrates the statictical data of the satisfaction rating of different library facilities.

Overall, full-time undergradutes hold the lion's share and users are 100% satisfied with library opening hours and co-operation of staff.

To be more precise, full-time graduates account for 44% of the total library users, followed by full-time postgraduates with a quarter of a whole. Moreover, part-time postgraduate constituate one-sixted of the total library user. Noticeably, students who are pursuing their academics through distance learning mode and university academic staff are the lowerst amongst other categories with 8 & 7% respectively.

Furthermore, cordial nature of staff contributes to 95% of the delighted satisfaction from users and rest are fairly satisfied. Likewise, users are extremely and fairly satisfied with 65 & 35% rating respectively. The highest percentage of dis-satisfaction rating comes from availability of journals and wifi availability marking at 20 & 19%. Additionally only one-tenth users are not satisfied with availability of books.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both visuals and provide a relevant overview, identifying full-time undergraduates as the largest group and staff satisfaction as especially high. Most figures are reported accurately, including the 44%, 25%, 16%, 8% and 7% user shares, and the dissatisfaction figures for journals, Wi-Fi and books. However, the overview says users are “100% satisfied” with opening hours and staff cooperation, although the table shows 65% very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied for opening hours, and 95% and 5% respectively for staff; these totals combine satisfaction levels rather than indicating complete satisfaction in one category. Also, “full-time graduates” should be undergraduates. The account of satisfaction is less complete than the user-category summary: include the comparatively lower satisfaction with journals and Wi-Fi.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs describing the user categories and satisfaction results. Sequencing is generally logical, and transitions such as “Overall,” “Furthermore,” and “Additionally” help signal the movement between points. This meets the requirement for coherent organisation, and some linking is effective. However, the progression within the final paragraph is less precise: “Likewise” introduces opening-hours figures after staff satisfaction, but the relationship between the two points is not clear. The overview also groups opening hours and staff together as “100% satisfied,” making the reference ambiguous. Use more exact links and refer explicitly to each facility so comparisons are easy to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for describing proportions and satisfaction, including “account for,” “followed by,” “one-tenth,” and “percentage of dissatisfaction.” Some less common expressions, such as “lion’s share” and “cordial nature,” show an attempt to vary your language, but they are not always natural or suitably precise for a formal data summary. There are also spelling and word-form errors, including “statictical,” “constituate,” “one-sixted,” and “lowerst,” alongside the inconsistent use of “graduates” for “undergraduates.” Prefer straightforward, accurate terms such as “largest share,” “make up,” and “lowest proportion.” This would improve precision while retaining the range you already demonstrate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, for example, “students who are pursuing their academics through distance learning mode…” and the sentence comparing dissatisfaction with journals and Wi-Fi. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. The opening sentence has subject–verb disagreement (“The pie charts depicts”), and “table demonstrates” needs an article. In “full-time postgraduates with a quarter of a whole. Moreover,” punctuation and spacing are faulty, while “part-time postgraduate constitute” has a number-agreement problem. The phrase “users are 100% satisfied” also uses the table’s categories imprecisely, though the central issue is the interpretation of the data. Check agreement, articles, plural forms and sentence punctuation, and proofread each sentence for a complete, correctly joined structure.
