Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the largest user group as full-time undergraduates (44%) and report several satisfaction figures, including opening hours and Wi-Fi. However, the response covers the data only partially: it omits the availability-of-books results and gives no clear overview of the main satisfaction pattern, such as staff helpfulness being highest and receiving no dissatisfied ratings. The figure for fairly satisfied users of staff is 5%, not 3%, and the opening sentence suggests the chart compares only three groups. The conclusion repeats the undergraduate point rather than summarising the findings. The response is also six words below the required minimum. To improve, include a concise overview, select the most notable comparisons across both visuals, and check every reported figure against the chart.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation: the response begins with the user categories, moves to satisfaction results, and ends with a conclusion. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these sections. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow, and the overview is not clearly separated from individual details. Linking expressions such as “therefore,” “by contrast,” and “Inconclusion” are either unclear or do not show the intended relationship. The satisfaction paragraph lists several figures without a consistent pattern, and the final sentence repeats an earlier point rather than drawing the information together. Use a clear sequence—overview, user categories, then satisfaction comparisons—and connect each comparison explicitly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “very satisfied,” “fairly satisfied,” “availability,” and “reliability,” so the reader can recognise the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning awkward, such as “library user of university,” “the part time postgraduate uses by 16%,” and “satisfied customer.” Spelling errors, including “learing,” “jounals,” and “satsfied,” also reduce clarity. Prefer precise chart language such as “accounted for,” “users,” and “respondents,” and use consistent terms for the categories. Proofreading spelling and avoiding conversational or inaccurate phrases would make the report more precise and easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt a few longer structures, including “Overall” and “by contrast,” but most sentences are difficult to control, and the range of sentence patterns is limited. Errors in articles, agreement, and sentence construction appear in examples such as “The chart shows the survey of library user of university” and “the part time postgraduate uses by 16%.” The satisfaction section also joins several statements without clear grammatical boundaries, while punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent. These problems sometimes obscure how the figures relate to each category. Build accurate simple sentences first—for example, “Full-time undergraduates made up 44% of users”—then add comparisons using controlled clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
