Student answer (Band 5.0)

The given chart demonstrate the outcomes of a study of individuals, utilising university library resources. The table compares the satisfaction percentages of liberary users.

The Pie Chart is dipicting the distribution of multiple catagories of library users. which shows that full-time undergraduates have the highest contribution as a library user. On the otherside the academic staff have the least percentage for utelising the liberary resources.

Full time undergraduate which are almost half of the total users have 44% contribution to use liberary.

academic staff having 8% contribution for using library. Distance Learning ad academic staff have almost same percentages.

The table provides a detailed comparison in terms of percentages for the library users satisfaction.

Overall the liberary opening hours and helpfulness of staff is the most satified service. Availability of journals and relibility of wi-wi least satisfies services at liberary.

Highest satisfaction percentage is for the helpfulness of staff, 95% users are satisfied.40% of users are fairly satisfies with the availability of books. 20% of users are not satified with the availability of joiurnals and for relibility of wi-fi service at library.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several important features, including the dominance of full-time undergraduates (44%) and the high satisfaction with staff helpfulness (95%). You also note that opening hours receive no dissatisfaction and that journals attract a relatively high dissatisfied share. However, the overview is incomplete and some figures are inaccurate: academic staff account for 7%, not 8%, and distance learners (8%) are close to academic staff, rather than being compared clearly with them. The statement that journals and wi-fi are the least satisfying services is imprecise; journals have the highest dissatisfaction (20%), while wi-fi has 19%. Several table categories and comparisons are omitted, so the main features are only partly covered and some points need clearer support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure, moving from the user categories to satisfaction, and separate paragraphs help distinguish the chart from the table. Some progression is also evident in the contrast between the largest and smallest user groups. However, the organisation within paragraphs is uneven: the sentence beginning “Full time undergraduate” repeats the earlier point, while the table discussion jumps from an overall claim to selected figures without a clear comparison pattern. Linking phrases such as “On the otherside” are awkward, and the final sentence combines two dissatisfaction figures in a way that makes their relationship unclear. A clearer overview followed by systematically grouped comparisons would make the information easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “distribution,” “contribution,” “satisfaction,” and “availability,” which helps communicate the chart’s subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision. “Contribution to use library” is not a natural way to describe a user share; “accounted for” or “represented” would fit better. Repeated use of “satisfied” also makes the table description less varied, and “least satisfies services” is unclear. Frequent misspellings such as “liberary,” “catagories,” and “relibility” are noticeable. Aim for accurate, conventional chart language and check spelling carefully so the reader can focus on the comparisons.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple statements and longer structures, for example, “The table compares the satisfaction percentages…” and “which shows that full-time undergraduates have the highest contribution…”. However, the range is limited, and complex attempts are often incomplete or poorly controlled. The clause beginning “which shows” is separated from its sentence by a full stop, and “Full time undergraduate which are almost half…” lacks a clear grammatical structure. There are also recurring agreement and article problems, as in “the most satified service” and “Distance Learning ad academic staff have…”. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including sentence starts such as “academic staff” and missing spaces after full stops. More complete sentence patterns and careful proofreading would improve control.
