Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, while academic staff are the smallest group at 7%. You also report several other user shares and note that staff helpfulness receives very positive feedback. However, the response is incomplete and only partially covers the task: the final sentence breaks off at “half of satisfied wi”, and the satisfaction figures for journals and Wi-Fi are not clearly reported. The claim that journals are the least satisfactory is broadly supported, but the table shows 45% very satisfied, 35% fairly satisfied and 20% not satisfied; Wi-Fi also merits comparison. The overview is limited, and the response is below the required 150 words. Include a complete overview and accurately summarise the main contrasts across both visuals.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic, useful structure: it first describes the user categories and then turns to satisfaction, with paragraph breaks helping the reader distinguish the two visuals. Phrases such as “From the chart” and “Now we will discuss” signal a change of focus. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven, and several points are joined in a repetitive list using “And” and “about”. The final sentence is unfinished, so the discussion of satisfaction stops abruptly and the response lacks a clear conclusion. Some references, such as “other information chart” and “other were fairly satisfied”, are vague. Organise the satisfaction results into a clear sequence, use precise references to each category, and finish with a concise overview.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “categories”, “full-time undergraduates”, “part time postgraduates” and “fairly satisfied”, so the reader can generally identify the subject of each point. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are unnatural, such as “library majorly used by”, “satisfied from” and “feedback … to library”. Spelling errors—including “Quater”, “learnig”, “univesity” and “availibilty”—are noticeable and sometimes make reading less smooth. Repetition of “students”, “satisfied” and “used” also limits precision. Practise accurate forms and use standard chart language, for example “accounted for”, “were satisfied with” and “the proportion of users” to describe the data more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most sentences rely on simple structures, and attempts to combine several ideas often produce errors that can make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “the library majorly used by full-time undergraduates” is missing a suitable verb construction, while “post graduate students uses library” has subject–verb agreement and article problems. The sentence beginning “Almost everyone is satisfied…” also shifts awkwardly between categories without a clear grammatical structure. Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, as in “university. And” and “satisfied.about”. The unfinished ending, “half of satisfied wi”, further prevents the final idea from being understood. Build accurate simple sentences first, then practise linking comparisons with structures such as “while” and “whereas”; check verbs, articles and sentence endings.
