Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You report the main user categories and include the figures for all five satisfaction areas, with the values generally matching the chart and table. The overview also identifies full-time undergraduates as the largest group and academic staff as the smallest. However, the overview is unclear in places: “All results are best” does not accurately summarise satisfaction, since ratings vary and some users were not satisfied. The response mainly lists figures rather than selecting and comparing the most important patterns—for example, staff helpfulness has the highest very-satisfied score, while journals have the highest dissatisfaction. The response is also 143 words, below the required 150; the 17 words copied from the task prompt are excluded from the count. Develop the overview and add concise comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an overview is followed by the user-category figures and then the satisfaction results. This makes the information possible to follow, and the labels help distinguish the table topics. However, progression is limited because most of the response is a sequence of separate figures rather than grouped comparisons. “On top of the line” is an unclear transition, and the standalone heading “Library user satisfaction (%)” interrupts the flow. The overview also does not clearly lead into the detailed information. Organise the response into purposeful paragraphs, use linking phrases to compare related results, and connect each detail to a main pattern rather than presenting the data as a list.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “full-time undergraduate,” “distance learning,” “very satisfied,” and “reliability of wi-fi,” so the reader can identify the categories and measures. However, the range is limited and several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, such as “result high than,” “user result,” and “On top of the line.” Repeated use of “result” also makes the description less fluent. There are noticeable spelling errors in “Aveilabilty” and “Avaliabilty,” which reduce accuracy in a task that depends on clear labels. Use standard chart language such as “accounted for,” “the largest proportion,” and “satisfaction rating,” and check the spelling of key category names before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response relies mainly on short, simple statements and table-style fragments, so it shows limited grammatical range. Some sentences communicate the figures, but errors recur in basic structures: “the full time undergraduates result high than” lacks a correct comparative form and verb construction, while “full time postgraduate result on 2nd position” is also grammatically incomplete. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries are inconsistently handled, as in “Library opening hours very satisfied percentage is 65.” Commas and spacing around percentages are also uneven. Practise complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, for example, “Full-time undergraduates made up the largest group, at 44%.” Vary sentence patterns while checking agreement, articles, and punctuation.
