Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, while academic staff make up the smallest share at 7%. You also note that staff helpfulness receives very high satisfaction and that dissatisfaction is notable for journals and Wi-Fi. However, the overview contains a major misreading: opening hours have no dissatisfied users, rather than the highest dissatisfaction. The final sentence also incorrectly says that dissatisfaction with journals is “more than 50%”; the figure is 20%. Several important comparisons are omitted or unclear, including the 95% very satisfied with staff and the 65% satisfied with opening hours. Select the key figures accurately and summarise the strongest contrasts to make the report more complete and clear.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for user categories and satisfaction results. Sequencing words such as “Overall,” “Firstly,” and “Secondly” help the reader follow this organisation. However, the overview’s claims are not consistently carried through accurately, and the satisfaction paragraph moves between Wi-Fi, journals, staff helpfulness, and journals again without a clear comparison pattern. The repeated use of “On the other hand” does not always signal a precise contrast. Group the satisfaction results by their strongest positive and negative ratings, and use clear references such as “this figure” only when the referent is unmistakable. This would make the progression more controlled.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “users,” “survey,” “dissatisfaction,” and “reliability,” so the topic is generally clear. There is some variation in phrasing, such as “highest percentage” and “second largest.” However, spelling errors (“indentify,” “statisified,” “helfulness,” “quartar”) and awkward or inaccurate collocations reduce precision. For example, “the highest number of dissatisfaction” is not a natural way to describe a percentage, and “category of library users” should be plural when referring to several groups. Aim for accurate, conventional reporting phrases such as “the proportion of users” and “the highest level of dissatisfaction.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would also make your meaning more reliable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast clause beginning “Even though” and a comparison using “whereas.” These structures show some range, and the main message is usually understandable. However, errors in agreement and sentence construction recur: “the highest percentage of library user are” should use a singular subject and plural noun, while “Full time postgraduate and part time postgraduate comes” has a plural subject with a singular verb. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “from the survey result its easy to identify,” where the possessive apostrophe and a more complete construction are needed. Check subject–verb agreement, plural forms, and punctuation, especially in longer sentences, to improve control.
