Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the main user groups and correctly report several figures, including undergraduates at 44%, academic staff at 7%, and part-time postgraduates at 16%. However, the satisfaction data are substantially misreported: helpfulness of staff is 95% very satisfied, not 65%, and the two categories with no dissatisfied users are opening hours and staff helpfulness—not two categories with some dissatisfaction. The response also omits key comparisons across the satisfaction ratings and gives no clear overview of the strongest and weakest results. The repeated opening description adds no useful summary. To improve, select the most notable patterns and report the table’s figures accurately, distinguishing very, fairly, and not satisfied.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has separate paragraphs for user categories and satisfaction, which gives it a basic topic-based structure. Some information is also presented in a broadly sensible order, such as naming the largest and smallest user groups. However, progression is weakened by unclear or incomplete links: “Where academic staff…” and “Where availability…” are sentence fragments, while “Lastly we have two not satisfied segment” does not clearly connect to the data. The final paragraph repeats the opening almost word for word, disrupting the ending rather than summarising the findings. Use a concise overview followed by logically grouped details, and connect comparisons with accurate linking phrases such as “by contrast” or “whereas.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “categories,” “percentage,” “satisfaction level,” and “availability,” so the reader can generally identify the topics being discussed. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “how satisfy the people are by the library” and “very satisfaction level” are not natural ways to describe survey ratings; “staff” is also written as “stuff,” changing the meaning. There are frequent spelling errors, including “categorories,” “udergraduate,” and “availabilty.” Practise accurate forms such as “users were very satisfied with…” and use consistent terms for the three satisfaction categories.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and comparisons, for example, “The highest number of users are basically from full time undergraduate program which is 44%.” However, sentence structures are often incomplete or inaccurately formed, limiting clarity. “Where academic staff has the lowest percentage” is a fragment, and “The other two users are from…” does not clearly express the comparison between groups. There are also recurring problems with agreement, articles, and plural forms, as in “how satisfy the people are” and “two not satisfied segement.” The repeated opening sentence is grammatically understandable but does not help develop the response. Build reliable simple sentences first, then add controlled comparisons using complete clauses and accurate verb forms.
