Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the largest user group, full-time undergraduates at 44%, and report the 25% figure for full-time postgraduates. You also notice that staff helpfulness has the highest very-satisfied result, at 95%. However, the response covers the table only minimally: it mentions opening hours but does not compare the other satisfaction categories, such as books, journals and wi-fi. The overview is unclear, and the statement that 44% is “more than half” is inaccurate; it is the largest share, but below half. The response is also 44 words below the required minimum, which leaves important features undeveloped. To improve, give a clear overview and select several accurate comparisons from both visuals.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to separate the two visuals: the response first discusses user categories and then shifts to satisfaction with “Now”. This gives the reader some sense of the intended order. However, the progression within each part is difficult to follow, and the second section ends without summarising the table’s main pattern. Connections between figures are often unclear, as in “distance and academic staff is consist on 16%,8% are 7%.” Punctuation and spacing also make the text harder to read. Use one paragraph for the user profile and another for satisfaction, with a clear overview before the details. Then group related comparisons and use simple linking phrases such as “by contrast” and “while” accurately.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses a small set of relevant terms, including “categories,” “full time undergraduate,” “satisfaction,” and “percentage,” so the topic is recognisable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several spelling and word-choice errors strain understanding: “illurate,” “labrary,” “hafe,” “helpfull,” and “satisfication.” Some phrases are also not natural for describing data, such as “university use” and “get form university different department.” Build a reliable set of chart language and check spelling carefully. For example, describe a group as “accounted for” a percentage, and use “respondents were very satisfied” rather than “people are very satisfied with percentage.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas with forms such as “While” and “how many,” but most sentences have frequent errors in basic sentence structure and agreement, and these sometimes obscure the intended comparisons. For example, “The full time undergraduate is cover” combines an incorrect verb form with an unclear subject, while “all other categories is” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “Now her on conduct” is also difficult to interpret because its clause structure is incomplete. Sentence boundaries and spacing are inconsistent. Practise accurate simple patterns first: “Full-time undergraduates make up 44% of users,” and “Staff helpfulness received the highest satisfaction rating.” Then add comparisons using correctly formed clauses.
