Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You report most of the figures accurately, including the largest user group (44% full-time undergraduates) and the satisfaction results for each service. However, the response is mainly a list of individual figures rather than a clear summary of the main features. It gives no distinct overview identifying, for example, that full-time undergraduates form the largest group, staff helpfulness receives the strongest satisfaction, and journals attract the greatest dissatisfaction. There is also a significant category error: the chart says “full-time undergraduate,” but you call this group “full-time graduates”; similarly, the 16% group is part-time postgraduate, not “part-time graduates.” These inaccuracies and the limited selection and synthesis of key features mean the task is only partially addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces the two visuals, describes user categories first, and then moves through the satisfaction table. Sequencing words such as “At first,” “Additionally,” and “Furthermore” help the reader follow this progression. This clear organisation is a strength. However, the linking is sometimes mechanical or awkward, and several sentences begin with “While” or “Moreover” without forming a smooth connection to the preceding point. The table paragraph also becomes a long sequence of separate results, with little grouping or comparison between services. A concise overview paragraph and clearer grouping of the strongest and weakest satisfaction results would make the progression more purposeful and cohesion less repetitive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You show some range by attempting alternatives such as “proportion,” “reliability,” and “contentment,” and the main subject remains understandable. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing survey data: “library consumers,” “discriminates the categories,” “fully gratified,” and “impartially satisfied” do not fit the intended meaning or register. Repeated use of “contentment” and “satisfied” also limits precision, while spelling errors such as “avalibility,” “demonstartes,” and “satisifed” are noticeable. Prefer standard, precise reporting language and use it consistently—for example, “library users,” “shows the breakdown,” and “very satisfied.” This would improve clarity without requiring unnecessarily elaborate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while” and “which,” and most of the information can be understood. However, control is uneven, particularly in longer sentences. For example, “The pie chart depict” has subject–verb disagreement, while “which comprise of” has an incorrect verb pattern and agreement. “The 44% of the consumers are” also uses an unnecessary article, and “the reliability of wi-fi comprise” again has agreement problems. Some sentence fragments or poorly joined clauses occur, such as “While, 25%...” and “While 45%...”. Build complete sentences, check singular/plural agreement, and use punctuation to separate comparisons; these changes would make your varied structures more reliable.
