Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both visuals and identify several important features, especially the dominance of full-time undergraduates (44%) and the strong rating for staff helpfulness (95% very satisfied). You also compare satisfaction with books, journals and Wi-Fi, and correctly note that journals have the greatest dissatisfaction (20%). However, some details are inaccurate: part-time postgraduate users are 16%, not 18%, and staff helpfulness has 5% fairly satisfied, not 35%. The overview also calls 40% the highest fairly satisfied figure, although this is for books; opening hours are higher at 35%, while books are 40%. The main features are relevant, but the overview and some comparisons need more precise selection and reporting.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an opening, an overview, a paragraph on user categories and a final discussion of satisfaction. This helps the reader distinguish the two sets of information. However, progression is uneven, and some points are repeated: the 44% undergraduate figure appears in both the overview and the next paragraph. Linking is sometimes awkward or unclear, as in “In the above,” and the sentence about journals (“The highest level of dissatisfaction”) is a fragment whose connection to the preceding point is not explicit. Organise the satisfaction figures in a clearer sequence and use linking phrases to show contrasts and comparisons without repeating data.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “categories,” “very satisfied,” “dissatisfied,” “availability” and “reliability,” so the topic is generally clear. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “receives the most positive feedback.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “the most highest categories,” “users active,” and “the highest satisfaction of very in” make parts of the report difficult to interpret. Spelling errors such as “satisfication,” “availablilty” and “reliabilty” also reduce accuracy. Aim for concise, standard expressions such as “accounted for,” “the largest proportion,” and “were very satisfied,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, for example, “In contrast, academic resources show lower…” This gives some variety, but control is inconsistent. Subject–verb agreement is incorrect in “The two diagrams illustrates,” and the overview phrase “the full-time undergraduate categories is” has agreement and sentence-structure problems. Several sentences are incomplete or awkwardly joined, including “The highest level of dissatisfaction” and “Overview, the full-time undergraduate categories…”. Articles and prepositions are also often missing or misplaced. These errors sometimes make relationships between figures unclear. Build complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and punctuation when combining comparisons.
