Student answer (Band 6.5)
The chart illustrates the categories of library users while the table shows the results of a survey taken by library users at a university.
Overall, it is observed that Full-time undergraduate had the highest percentage of library users, In contrast with Academic staff which had the lowest. Furthermore, it is clearly seen that most of the users were satisfed with the helpfulness of staff but weren't pleased with the unavailability of journals.
It can be observed that Full-time undergraduate occupied majority of the library users at 44%, followed by Full-time postgraduate at 25% and Part-time postgraduate at 16%. However, Distance learning and Academic staff accounted for the lowest library users at 8% and 7%, respectively.
A substantial amount of people (65%) were very satisfied about the llibrary opening hours, leaving the remaining to be fairly satisfied (35%) but no one accounted for not satisfied. Similary to how staff are ready to help, majority of the users were satisfied (95%) few were fairly satisfied (5%), just like the opening hours: no one accounted for not satisfied with the helpfulness of staff.
For the Availability of books, 50% of the users were satisfied, 40% were fairly satisfied, the remaining 10% were not satisfied, and this result was similar to availability of journals.
Most of the library users were happy with the wifi, 33% were fairly satisfied and 19% wasn't satisfied at all.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, while academic staff are the smallest group at 7%. You also select several useful satisfaction figures, including the 95% very satisfied with staff helpfulness and the absence of dissatisfaction with opening hours. The overview gives a relevant broad comparison, but the claim that users “weren't pleased with the unavailability of journals” overstates the data: 45% were very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied, while 20% were not satisfied. The books and journals results are also described as similar without noting the higher dissatisfaction for journals. Wi-fi reporting omits the 48% who were very satisfied. More precise coverage of these less-developed points would make the summary more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories, and paragraphs covering satisfaction results. This makes the information easy to locate, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “followed by,” and “However” help show relationships. Some connections are less effective or repetitive, however. The staff paragraph repeats that nobody was dissatisfied, and “Similarly to how staff are ready to help” is an awkward transition from opening hours to staff satisfaction. The final paragraph also gives only two wi-fi figures, so it feels less complete than the preceding comparisons. Grouping the satisfaction results into a more deliberate comparison—for example, strongest ratings, then areas with more dissatisfaction—would improve progression and reduce repetition.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “accounted for,” “substantial amount,” “availability,” and “satisfied,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are, however, several imprecise or unnatural choices. “Occupied majority of the library users” is not a natural way to describe a proportion, while “satisfied about” and “weren't pleased with the unavailability” do not express the survey results precisely. “Most ... were happy with the wifi” is also too general when the table distinguishes three satisfaction levels. Spelling slips such as “satisfed,” “llibrary,” and “Similary” further limit accuracy. Aim for concise, neutral reporting language and use the table’s exact categories consistently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex forms, including the contrast in “In contrast with Academic staff” and the clause beginning “while the table shows.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical control is inconsistent. For example, “Full-time undergraduate had the highest percentage” needs a plural subject or a clearer category construction, and “Part-time postgraduate at 16%” is missing a verb in the list. In “the remaining to be fairly satisfied,” the sentence structure is incomplete; write that the remaining users were fairly satisfied. The final sentence also shifts to “19% wasn't satisfied,” although the subject is plural. More consistent sentence patterns and careful checking of agreement and complete clauses would strengthen accuracy.
