Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both visuals and include the main user categories and all five satisfaction topics, with most figures reported accurately. The overview identifies full-time undergraduates as the largest group and academic staff as the smallest, and notes the contrast between satisfaction with opening hours and wi-fi. However, some comparisons are unclear or incomplete: “reliability of wi-fi is low” does not specify that it has the lowest very-satisfied share, while staff helpfulness has the highest at 95%. Also, the figures for journals are misreported: 45%, 35% and 20% are correct, but the response’s sequence is difficult to connect clearly to each satisfaction category. The overview is relevant, though some key features need clearer development and comparison.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an overview, a paragraph on user categories, and a paragraph reporting satisfaction results. Sequencing words such as “Firstly” and “Now” help signal movement between the visuals. However, progression within the report is often mechanical, and the final sentence repeats the overview rather than adding a useful comparison. Several long lists of figures are joined with little punctuation or explanation, as in the sentence beginning “Availability of books is 50%”. Add clearer paragraphing and use linking language to show contrasts and rankings—for example, compare staff helpfulness with wi-fi satisfaction, then group the remaining topics. This would make the relationships between the data easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “categories,” “satisfaction,” “availability,” and “reliability,” so the reader can identify the topics being described. However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “academic staff slow” and “is high which is satisfied.” “As a result” is also not an appropriate way to introduce a summary of survey data, since no result or consequence is being established. There is some repetition of “high” and “satisfied,” and the spelling error “satisficationabout” affects clarity. Aim for precise reporting language and vary expressions such as “accounted for,” “the largest proportion,” and “rated very satisfied.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response communicates the main figures through mostly simple sentence patterns, but grammatical control is uneven and the range of structures is limited. Examples include “categories of library users of full time undergraduate is high,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “library opening hours is 65%,” where the plural topic is paired with a singular verb. Some sentences also lack spaces after full stops, and the long data lists need clearer punctuation. These issues sometimes make it difficult to see which satisfaction rating belongs to each figure. Practise accurate comparative sentences and consistent structures, such as “The share of users who were very satisfied was highest for staff helpfulness, at 95%.”
