Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the user categories and satisfaction results, and your overview identifies the largest user group and generally positive feedback. The figures for undergraduates (44%), full-time postgraduates (25%) and part-time postgraduates (16%) are accurate. However, the least represented groups are reversed: academic staff account for 7%, while distance learners make up 8%. Some satisfaction details are also unclear or inaccurate: 45% were very satisfied with journals, not fairly satisfied, and the statement that “very few” were dissatisfied overlooks the 20% dissatisfied with journals. You select relevant features, but the overview and comparisons need more precise reporting, especially for the satisfaction table.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs covering user categories and satisfaction. This helps the reader follow the two parts of the visual. However, progression within the satisfaction paragraph is uneven, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, “If we tal about the library opening hour decent 65 percent satisfied” does not clearly connect the opening-hours figures, while the final sentence repeats the general point that reviews were satisfactory without adding a distinct comparison. Use clearer topic sentences and group related results—for instance, compare the strongest ratings for staff and opening hours with the weaker ratings for journals and wi-fi. More precise referencing would also make the relationships between figures easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “proportion,” “satisfaction,” “dissatisfaction” and “reviews,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “occupy the most,” “hold with 25 percent” and “get mix reviews.” Spelling errors—including “helpfullness,” “satfied,” “satsied” and “availbility”—are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Aim for standard chart language and accurate forms, such as “account for,” “receive positive ratings” and “availability.” Reusing a small set of general terms such as “satisfied” also limits precision; vary these with accurate expressions like “very satisfied,” “fairly satisfied” and “dissatisfied.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple statements and longer constructions, but sentence patterns are limited and errors recur. For example, “Overall, the different group of users with there proportion in size and the level of satisfaction they get” is a fragment rather than a complete overview sentence. Agreement is also inconsistent in “The helpfulness of staff are most satisfied,” and articles and sentence structure are problematic in “If we tal about the library opening hour decent 65 percent satisfied.” These issues sometimes make relationships between the data difficult to understand. Practise complete subject–verb–object sentences and check agreement, articles and punctuation. A clearer version would be: “Staff helpfulness received the highest rating, with 95% of users very satisfied.”
