Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main user group and the smallest group, and you include relevant figures from both the chart and table. However, an important chart detail is misreported: 44% are full-time undergraduates, not “full-time graduate” users. The overview that users are “highly satisfied with all aspects” is too broad, since satisfaction varies and journals and wi-fi have notable dissatisfied shares. Some table details are omitted or unclear, including the 20% dissatisfied with wi-fi and the 10% dissatisfied with books. The response therefore covers the task only partially: select the strongest comparisons accurately and make the overview reflect both the high satisfaction with staff and the weaker results for journals and wi-fi.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by separate paragraphs for the chart and table. Sequencing phrases such as “Overall,” “Examining the pie chart,” and “Turning to the table” help the reader follow the shift between visuals. This coherent structure meets the lower-band expectations and shows some effective progression. However, cohesion is occasionally weakened by unclear links within sentences, particularly the long final table paragraph, where the comparisons between wi-fi and journals are difficult to track. Some transitions also feel formulaic rather than helping to organise specific comparisons. Group related satisfaction results together and use clearer references to each category to make the progression more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “dominant group,” “feedback,” and “satisfied,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. There are also attempts at more formal reporting language. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “full-time graduate” for the undergraduate category, “fairy satisfied” for “fairly satisfied,” and “reviews” where the table concerns satisfaction ratings. Repetition of “users” and “satisfied” also limits flexibility. These inaccuracies do not prevent understanding overall, but they reduce precision. Aim to use the exact category labels from the visual and choose natural reporting phrases such as “accounted for” and “reported being satisfied.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “whilst” and a sentence beginning “Turning to the table.” The main information is usually understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, and verb forms are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward. For example, “the full-time undergraduate comprises” should refer to the group as a proportion, and “the highest percentage of about 95% users satisfied” lacks a complete grammatical structure. In “the library opening hours and availability of books are also receive,” the verb construction is faulty. Work on complete clauses, subject–verb agreement, and consistent verb patterns; this will make your comparisons clearer while preserving the range you are attempting.
