Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both visuals and identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates account for the largest share, at 44%, while academic staff are the smallest, at 7%. The category figures are otherwise reported accurately. You also include several satisfaction results, including the 65% satisfied with opening hours and the 95% very satisfied with staff helpfulness. However, the overview is unclear and partly inaccurate: saying the other four groups had the “lowest percentages” does not distinguish their different shares, and describing satisfaction figures as “average” misses the strong contrast between staff helpfulness and journal availability. The table discussion also omits the journal figures and the 0% dissatisfaction for opening hours. A sharper overview of the highest and lowest satisfaction results would make the summary more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the chart and table. This makes the two sources easy to follow, and sequencing the user categories from largest to smaller shares is effective. Some links between ideas are less smooth, however. The overview’s phrase “whereas, fairly satisfied and not satisfied recorded average percentages” is difficult to interpret, and repeated patterns such as “while” and “whereas” make the table paragraph feel somewhat mechanical. The final paragraph also moves from opening hours to staff, books, and wi-fi without covering journals, which weakens the sense of a complete progression through the table. Use clearer comparisons and organise the satisfaction results around the strongest and weakest ratings.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough task-related vocabulary to communicate the main information, including “proportion,” “categories,” “availability,” and “reliability.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “library users who satisfied very much,” “made 50% of library users very satisfied,” and “recorded average percentages.” These expressions make some comparisons less clear. There are also spelling errors in “helfulness” and “satisifed,” and “wifi” would be better written as “Wi-Fi.” Aim for concise reporting language such as “were very satisfied with” and “accounted for.” More precise vocabulary for describing satisfaction levels would improve clarity and range without making the sentences more complicated.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, and most of the figures remain understandable. Some grammatical errors are noticeable, particularly in sentence structure and clause punctuation. For example, “full-time undergraduates library users” needs a possessive or a revised noun phrase, while “while, fairly satisfied were 35%” has an unnecessary comma and an awkward clause structure. In “All library users were satisfied with helfulness of staff with 0 dissatisfaction,” the relationship between the satisfaction figure and the service is not expressed clearly. There are also article and agreement issues in phrases such as “used library” and “which was highest.” Practise forming parallel comparisons—for example, “65% were very satisfied, while 35% were fairly satisfied”—and check articles, possessives, and punctuation.
