Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main user group correctly as full-time undergraduates (44%) and report the other user categories, so the chart is broadly represented. However, the overview focuses on the user mix and does not clearly summarise the main satisfaction pattern, such as staff helpfulness receiving the strongest ratings and no dissatisfaction with staff or opening hours. Several table figures are misreported: opening-hours satisfaction is 65% very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied, not 5% fairly satisfied; wi-fi dissatisfaction is 19%, not 20%; and journal satisfaction is 35% fairly satisfied, not 33%. The response covers both visuals, but these inaccuracies and the limited overview leave some key information unclear. Check each figure against the table and select the most notable comparisons for the overview.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure: it introduces both visuals, describes the user categories, and then turns to satisfaction results. This makes the broad subject easy to follow. However, progression within the second paragraph is mechanical, with repeated sequencing words such as “firstly,” “secondly,” “thirdly,” “fifthly,” and “sixthly.” The paragraph also moves through every satisfaction category in a list rather than grouping related results or highlighting contrasts. Some linking is awkward, as in “moreover, firstly,” and the long spacing in the overview disrupts presentation. Organise the table around meaningful comparisons—for example, the highest satisfaction ratings versus the areas with more dissatisfaction—and use fewer, more natural transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary, including “satisfaction rate,” “availability,” “fairly satisfied,” and “not satisfied,” which helps communicate the topic. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for an academic chart summary. “Library learners” and “comers” do not clearly describe the groups, while “if we have a gaze towards the chart” is an unsuitable conversational expression. “Half percent” also fails to express the intended 50%, and “didn't enjoyed” is an incorrect word form. Spelling errors such as “illurates” and “acessed” further reduce precision. Prefer standard chart language such as “shows,” “users,” “accounted for,” and “were satisfied with,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentence forms, including comparisons with “whereas” and clauses introduced by “who,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in basic sentence construction and punctuation: “The piechart illurates … whereas, the table depicts …” lacks clean punctuation, and “5% were fairly satisfied” is attached to the opening-hours result in a way that makes the comparison confusing. The phrase “20% didn't enjoyed the services” has an incorrect verb form; after “didn't,” use the base form. There are also inconsistent capitalisation and spacing around sentence openings and percentages. Most statements rely on a repeated simple pattern, so practise combining accurate clauses and checking verb forms, articles, and punctuation before adding complexity.
