Student answer (Band 5.5)

The chart illustrates the information about five different types of library users namely academic staff, full-time undergraduate, distance learning, part-time postgraduate and full-time postgraduate and the below table give information about percentage of satisfaction of library user.

Overall, it is clear that almost half of library users come from full-time undergraduate categories. While Acedemic staff contribution is to low rather than other four types of users.

To begin with full-time postgraduate user, around one-forth parts of library users are come from this zone, while part-time postgraduate users figure is 16%. Acedemic staff showing lowest figure of only 7% and that is almost same for distance learning person around 8% who learn all courses.

Last but not list, there is a big difference between full-time postgraduate and other users number. Almost 50% people are full-time undergraduate who read books and doing other activities in library.

On the other hand, given table show the information about level of satisfaction and how much people satisfied with these facelities.

It is clearly seen from the table, that the most unsatisfied facelity is availability of journals, while almost all users satisfied with library staff.

Around 65% of users are satisfied with library working hour while 35% people not much satisfied with these dicision. Number of very satisfied users of staff behavior is very high than other facelities around 95% with 5% of fairly satisfaction. The situation for books avilability is not much good or bad the number of fairly and very satisfied people almost same with 10% of user not satisfied.

Almost 45 out of 100 people very satisfied with avilability of journals. These number is almost same for wi-fi reliability. Both categories not sasisfied and fairly satisfied users number is almost same around 20 and 33 to 35.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both visuals and identify several important features: undergraduates form the largest user group, academic staff the smallest, staff helpfulness receives the strongest satisfaction rating, and journals attract the most dissatisfaction. These observations are broadly grounded in the data. However, some comparisons are unclear or inaccurate. For example, “35% people not much satisfied” with opening hours misreports the table: 35% are fairly satisfied and none are dissatisfied. The statement that “almost all users” are satisfied with staff is also imprecise; 95% are very satisfied and 5% fairly satisfied. The overview is present, but it focuses mainly on user categories and could summarise the strongest and weakest satisfaction results more clearly. Develop the comparisons with precise categories and figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening, an overview, and separate discussion of the user categories and satisfaction table. This helps the reader follow the two visuals. However, progression is uneven: “Last but not list” introduces another point about undergraduates after the user-category details, repeating the earlier overview rather than advancing the comparison. The transition “On the other hand” does not express a clear contrast between the two visuals, and several linking phrases feel mechanical. Some references, such as “these facilities” and “these decision,” are unclear. Grouping related satisfaction results together—for example, the two strongest ratings and then the weaker areas—would create a more logical sequence. Use fewer, more precise transitions and ensure each paragraph has a clear purpose.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “library users,” “satisfaction,” “availability,” and “reliability,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make parts awkward or less precise. Examples include “come from this zone,” “library working hour,” “staff behavior,” and “not much good or bad”; these are not natural ways to describe the chart data. There are also repeated spelling errors such as “Acedemic,” “facelities,” and “avilability.” Aim for concise, conventional chart language such as “account for,” “opening hours,” and “respondents were fairly satisfied.” More accurate spelling and collocations would make your comparisons easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “while” and “although”-style comparisons, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors occur frequently in sentence construction and verb forms. For instance, “the below table give information” needs subject–verb agreement and a more natural structure, while “users are come from this zone” has an incorrect verb form. Articles, plurals, and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “the most unsatisfied facelity” and the missing space after the full stop in “categories.While.” Some longer sentences combine several ideas without clear grammatical control. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build comparisons with correctly formed clauses and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
