Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the user categories and satisfaction results, and the figures you report for the user groups and most satisfaction ratings match the data. The overview identifies undergraduates as the largest group and staff helpfulness and opening hours as strong areas, while correctly noting journals as the least satisfactory aspect. However, some features are less fully reported: for wi-fi, you give the very-satisfied and not-satisfied figures but omit the 33% fairly satisfied; you also do not clearly compare the satisfaction ratings across all categories. The statement that users were “satisfied more” with staff and opening hours is broad, since staff helpfulness is notably higher than opening hours. A clearer overview and fuller selection of key comparisons would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, figures for user categories, satisfaction details, and a concluding overview. This makes the main information reasonably easy to locate. However, progression is weakened by placing the overview at the end rather than establishing the main patterns before the details, and the final paragraph partly repeats information already given. Some links are awkward or mechanical, particularly “While …, however,” where the two contrast markers are used together. The satisfaction figures would be clearer if grouped consistently by feature and connected with concise comparisons. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for the overview and supporting details, and ensure each linking expression accurately shows the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary such as “proportions,” “full-time undergraduates,” “availability,” and “not satisfied,” so the reader can understand the subject and most comparisons. However, the range and control are limited by repeated wording and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions. “Full satisfaction” is not a natural substitute for “very satisfied,” while “fairly satisfaction” should be “fairly satisfied.” Errors such as “vaery satifies,” “availabillity,” “realibility,” and “acadmic” are noticeable and reduce precision. Aim to use the chart’s rating labels consistently and check spelling carefully. More precise comparison language, such as “accounted for” or “recorded the highest proportion,” would also help describe the data accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer structures, and the basic meaning is generally recoverable. However, control is uneven, with errors in agreement, articles, sentence construction, and punctuation. For example, “The pie chart illustrate” needs subject–verb agreement, and “while table provide” needs an article and an agreeing verb. In “Availability of journals had 45% were very satisfied,” the sentence structure is faulty because the subject and verb pattern are combined incorrectly. The final sentence, “While students were stisfied more …, however,” is also an incomplete or poorly joined construction. Practise building accurate comparison sentences, and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before finishing.
