Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You cover both parts of the visual and identify several important features accurately: undergraduates form the largest group (44%), academic staff the smallest (7%), and staff helpfulness receives the highest very-satisfied rating (95%). You also correctly highlight the absence of dissatisfaction with opening hours and staff helpfulness, and the higher dissatisfaction for journals and wi-fi. This gives the response a clear overview and relevant comparisons. Some details are less fully reported: the satisfaction figures for opening hours, staff, journals and wi-fi are not all set out, and the overview mainly lists categories and survey topics rather than summarising the strongest overall satisfaction pattern. For a more complete account, select a few key figures across both visuals and compare them explicitly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces the visuals, describes the user categories, and then turns to satisfaction results. Paragraphing helps distinguish these two sets of information, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “However,” and “Lastly” guide the reader. However, some connections feel mechanical or unclear. “Even more” does not express the intended relationship, while “Lastly” introduces the books figures without a clear reason for placing them last. The opening overview also combines a list of user groups with a list of survey topics, rather than establishing a concise main comparison. Grouping the satisfaction findings by high ratings and areas of concern, with clearer transitions, would make the progression more purposeful.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “categories,” “level of satisfaction,” “dissatisfaction,” and “availability,” so the main information is generally clear. There are also useful attempts to vary phrasing, such as “largest group” and “main concerns.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or informal, however: “staff responsivness” is not the same as the table’s “helpfulness of staff,” and “how good is the wifi” is conversational and imprecise. Phrases such as “comes second by 25%” and “holds the highest satisfaction percentage” are also awkward. Check spelling and use the chart’s precise labels where possible; more natural reporting phrases would improve precision without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, and the meaning is usually recoverable. However, some errors in agreement, articles, sentence construction and punctuation remain. For example, “The table and the diagram illustrates” has a plural subject with a singular verb, and “users of a the library” contains an article error. The phrase “The largest group … are the full-time undergraduate” also has agreement and plural problems, while “how good is the wifi” uses question word order inside a statement. Commas and spaces are missing after several transitions, as in “Even more, library” and “However, the.” Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and statement word order, then proofread punctuation. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
