Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates account for the largest share at 44%, while academic staff are the smallest at 7%. You also report several other user categories and accurately describe opening-hours and staff-helpfulness satisfaction, as well as the wi-fi figures. However, the overview is incomplete and the response gives disproportionate attention to the user categories and only selected satisfaction results. The table’s strongest and weakest satisfaction patterns are not clearly compared, and the figures for books and journals are largely omitted after the brief mention of books. Develop an overview that highlights the high ratings for staff and opening hours and the comparatively lower ratings for journals and wi-fi, then support it with selected figures from across the table.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the chart and table. This gives the reader some sense of how the information is divided. However, progression is limited because the overview repeats the books figure, while the final paragraph moves between opening hours, staff, and wi-fi without a clear comparison or complete coverage. Linking phrases such as “In commen,” “Additionall,” and “Further more” are either inaccurate or do not show the relationship between the data clearly. Group related satisfaction results together—for example, the highest ratings first, followed by the lower-rated services—and use concise transitions to signal comparisons. Clearer paragraph focus and less repetition would make the information easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “full-time undergraduate,” “fairly satisfied,” and “reliability,” so the reader can identify the categories and ratings being discussed. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning awkward: “greater number of user,” “highest area,” and “average among other” do not describe percentages naturally. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “helfulness,” “relibiality,” and “satisried.” Use precise terms such as “proportion,” “share,” and “rating,” and check spelling carefully. Avoid describing chart segments as an “area”; say that a group “accounted for” a percentage instead.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can generally understand the main figures. However, grammatical errors are frequent, and attempts to combine several points often produce faulty structures. For example, “The given pie chart and table illustrates” has subject–verb disagreement, while “the greater number of user are” has problems with number agreement and sentence construction. In “full-time postgraduate come which have 25%,” the clause structure and agreement are unclear. Articles and prepositions are also often missing or awkward, as in “information of library that used at university.” Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then connect comparisons using controlled clauses. Check singular and plural forms and ensure each sentence has a clear subject and verb.
