Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both visuals and give a clear overview of the main user group and the smallest group, then report most satisfaction figures accurately. The comparison that undergraduates account for 44% and full-time postgraduates 25% is useful, as is noting that staff helpfulness receives the strongest very-satisfied response. However, there are a few inaccuracies: books are rated 40% fairly satisfied, not 4%, and the final claim that journal availability has the lowest satisfaction is unclear or misleading; it has the lowest very-satisfied share, while opening hours have the lowest dissatisfaction. The overview also lists the five satisfaction topics but does not synthesise the overall pattern. Accurate reporting is strong, but a more precise overview and clearer comparisons would make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories and a paragraph on satisfaction. This makes the information generally easy to follow. Some linking is effective, such as “which is followed by” when comparing the two largest user groups. However, the opening sentence is overloaded and repeats “table,” while the overview mostly describes what the visuals contain rather than summarising their key patterns. The final satisfaction paragraph becomes a sequence of figures, and its closing comparison is not clearly connected to the data. Use clearer topic sentences and group related satisfaction results—for example, the strongest ratings together, then the areas with more dissatisfaction—to improve progression and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “categories,” “satisfaction,” and “reliability,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, the range is limited by repeated wording such as “users,” “satisfied,” and “availability,” and several phrases are unnatural or imprecise: “the chart is divided into five categories,” “got voted,” and “lowest satisfaction.” Spelling errors such as “cources” and “Availablity” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise reporting language and natural collocations, such as “accounted for,” “rated,” and “the highest proportion of very satisfied respondents.” Check spelling carefully, especially for key terms that recur in the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use comparative structures, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “combine data of both the chart and table gives” has an incorrect subject–verb structure, while “User satisfaction were taken” has faulty agreement and an unnatural passive construction. In “Full-time undergraduate leading the chart,” the sentence lacks a finite verb; “Part-time postgraduate are 16%” also needs a plural noun phrase. Articles and sentence boundaries are sometimes missing or awkward. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses. For instance, write “Full-time undergraduates made up 44% of users, the largest group” and check agreement and punctuation throughout.
