Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, while academic staff make up the smallest share at 7%. You also select several important satisfaction results, including the 95% very satisfied with staff helpfulness and the relatively high dissatisfaction with journals and Wi-Fi. This gives a relevant overview of both visuals. However, some features are only partly reported: distance learners (8%) are omitted, and the satisfaction figures for opening hours and the full distribution for several categories are not covered. The overview also says users are “fairly satisfied” with books without clarifying that 50% are very satisfied and 40% fairly satisfied. More balanced coverage and precise comparisons would make the summary more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a brief overview, then separate discussion of user categories and satisfaction. Phrases such as “At a glance” and “Turning to the satisfaction” help signal the movement between points, and the reader can follow the main comparisons. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some ability to guide the reader. However, progression within the final paragraph is compressed, with several satisfaction results joined together without explaining their relationship. Some linking is also mechanical, and punctuation around transitions is inconsistent, as in “second largest.Part-time”. Grouping the satisfaction results more systematically and using clearer sentence boundaries would strengthen cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion”, “comparative analysis”, “helpfulness” and “reliability”, so the main subject is generally clear. There are also attempts to vary wording rather than repeat “users” throughout. However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning awkward: “library used by” and “least area is covered” do not naturally describe user percentages, while “satisfied from” should be expressed differently. Spelling and word-form errors such as “tha”, “satified”, “undergraduated”, “quartor” and “jouranls” further reduce precision. Aim for accurate, conventional chart language and check spelling and forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in the opening and a contrast introduced by “while”. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but grammatical control is inconsistent, which limits clarity. For example, “bar chart shows” is missing an article, and “full-time undergraduate used largest proportion” has problems with article use and sentence construction. The phrase “user very satisfied from” also lacks a correctly formed subject and verb pattern. Several ideas are run together, particularly in the final sentence, and punctuation is not consistently controlled. Work on complete clauses, articles, subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at varied structures.
