Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both visuals and provide a clear overview of the main user group and the smallest group, then report several satisfaction results. The figures for user categories are accurate, and you correctly identify staff helpfulness as the strongest result and journal availability as having the highest dissatisfaction. This gives the response a solid account of the key features. However, the overview focuses only on user categories and does not summarise the broader satisfaction pattern, such as the generally high satisfaction with opening hours and staff. Some details are also imprecise: 95% of users were very satisfied with staff helpfulness, rather than staff “satisfying” 95% of students. A fuller overview comparing both visuals would make the response more complete and developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces the visuals, gives an overview, describes the user categories, and then turns to satisfaction. Comparisons such as the 44% undergraduate share versus the smaller distance-learning and staff groups help the reader follow the data. The linking expressions “Overall,” “In contrast,” and “however” also show an attempt to connect ideas. At times, though, the progression within the final paragraph is crowded: several satisfaction categories are joined in one long sentence, making the comparisons harder to process. The contrast signalled by “however” is not especially clear, and the final figures would be easier to follow if grouped into a more deliberate sequence, for example, positive results first and dissatisfaction levels second.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a suitable range of task vocabulary, including “accounted for,” “followed by,” “availability,” “proportion,” and “unsatisfied,” so the main comparisons are understandable. There are also attempts at more formal reporting language. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “the outcome of a study of a library users” is not a natural description of the visuals, and “categories … least contributed in the usage” is unclear. “Full time graduates” is also imprecise for the chart’s “full-time undergraduate” category. Spelling errors such as “unsatifacttion” and inconsistent forms such as “wifi” reduce accuracy. Aim for precise chart labels and natural collocations, such as “accounted for the smallest share” and “users were dissatisfied with.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use both simple statements and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “which is highest proportion” and a contrast structure beginning “while.” The overall meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors recur. The opening has an article and number problem in “a library users,” while “full time graduates” does not accurately form the intended category. In “which is 25% and 16% respectively,” the verb does not agree with the plural figures, and the sentence would be clearer with a plural construction. The final paragraph also contains a long sentence with several clauses and uneven punctuation, including a missing space after a full stop. More consistently controlled sentence boundaries, articles, and agreement would improve accuracy while retaining your range.
