Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main user group correctly (full-time undergraduates, 44%) and the smallest (academic staff, 7%), and your overview also highlights the strong satisfaction with staff helpfulness and opening hours. These are relevant headline features. However, the report covers the table only selectively: it gives no figures for journal satisfaction and does not clearly compare the less positive results for books, journals and Wi-Fi. The statement that the “not satisfied rate have the least percentage” is too general to show the differences, especially as dissatisfaction reaches 20% for journals. Also, distance learners are not the least group; they account for 8%, slightly more than academic staff. A fuller overview and more accurate comparisons would make the key features clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the chart and table. This makes the two sources easy to identify, and sequencing phrases such as “Thereafter” and “after that” help signal progression. However, some links are mechanical or unclear, and the final table discussion moves between satisfaction categories without a consistent comparison. For example, “the fairly satisfied percentage shows 40% ... then 33%” is understandable but does not explain how these figures relate to the very-satisfied results. The overview also ends with a line break that interrupts the sentence. Grouping the table results by strongest satisfaction and areas with more dissatisfaction, and using clearer references, would improve flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “categories,” “percentage,” “satisfaction,” and “reliability,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. Phrases such as “the most category,” “the second percentage,” and “very satisfied rate” do not express the intended comparisons naturally. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “demostrates,” “stasfied,” “statisified,” “availablity,” and “perentage.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the main meaning can usually be recovered. Use standard chart language such as “largest group,” “accounted for,” and “proportion,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including the contrastive opening with “While” and the overview beginning “it is clear ... that.” Most sentences communicate their general meaning, but grammatical control is uneven. For example, “the library user are very satisfied” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “the most category of library users is” uses an incorrect structure. In “the very stasfied rate have the highest percentage,” the verb does not agree with the subject, and the sentence pattern is awkward. Capitalisation after full stops is also inconsistent, as in “after that.” Aim for accurate comparison structures and check agreement, articles and sentence boundaries; this would make your ideas easier to follow.
