Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both visuals and identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, while academic staff are the smallest group at 7%. You also select useful satisfaction figures, including the 95% very satisfied with staff helpfulness and the 65% satisfied with opening hours. The overview gives a broad comparison, but it could be more complete by noting that dissatisfaction is highest for journals (20%) and that no one was dissatisfied with opening hours or staff helpfulness. Some details are unclear or imprecise: “the least number” for journals refers only to the very-satisfied column, and “35% ... with not only opening hours ... but also ... journals” obscures that these are separate fairly-satisfied figures. More precise comparisons and a fuller overview would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the user categories and satisfaction results. This makes the two visuals easy to distinguish, and sequencing within the final paragraph is generally understandable. However, some linking is mechanical or confusing. “Similarly” is used to connect points that are not clearly parallel, while “In contrast” introduces the two smallest user groups without a meaningful contrast. The final satisfaction paragraph moves between very, fairly, and not satisfied figures, so the reader has to work to follow the comparisons. Grouping the satisfaction data by rating level, or comparing the five services in a consistent order, would create clearer progression. Check that references such as “the least” specify which satisfaction category is meant.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “categories,” “occupied,” “accounted for,” and “represented,” and the meaning is usually recoverable. However, several expressions are unnatural or imprecise for describing survey data: “results of categories,” “satisfactory results,” and “staff helping nature” do not sound idiomatic. Repetition of “people” and “library users” also limits flexibility, while spelling errors such as “catigories” and “availitability” reduce accuracy. Some phrases, including “the least number was shown by journals availability,” make the intended comparison harder to understand. Aim for concise, conventional chart language and use precise terms for the satisfaction levels rather than substituting “highly” or “moderately” for the table’s labels.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “while” and “whereas,” and most figures remain understandable. However, there are some recurring problems with agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “majority of the library users was” should use a plural verb, and “About 25% were filled with postgraduates ... accounted for 25%” combines two structures awkwardly and repeats the figure. The sentence beginning “About 35% ... not only ... but also” does not clearly connect its two items, and “None of the people didn't vote” uses a double negative. Review subject–verb agreement and build one clear grammatical structure around each comparison. More consistently controlled complex sentences would improve accuracy.
