Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, followed by full-time postgraduates at 25%, and you note that staff and distance learners are the smallest groups. The overview also recognises generally positive satisfaction. However, several key details are inaccurate or unclear: the opening-hours figures are 65% very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied, not around 6% extremely satisfied; and the 80% figure for books combines 50% very satisfied with 40% fairly satisfied, so it should be 90%. You also omit the wi-fi results and give little comparison across all five satisfaction categories. Report the figures precisely and select the strongest contrasts, including the 95% very satisfied with staff helpfulness and the higher dissatisfaction with journals and wi-fi.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs covering user categories and satisfaction. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression within the satisfaction discussion is uneven: opening hours, staff, and books or journals are mentioned, but wi-fi is not developed, and the final sentence ends without a clear summary of the remaining comparisons. Some linking is repetitive or awkward, particularly the repeated use of “in fact” and the sequence “then… then… finally.” Separate the user-category data from the satisfaction data more clearly, and organise the latter by notable results or by satisfaction level. Clearer referencing and more purposeful transitions would make the report easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “categories,” “majority,” “minority,” “satisfied,” and “represent,” which helps communicate the broad comparisons. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “constitute the minority.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear: “realability,” “whith,” “accessiblity,” and “jounals” are examples. Several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, including “we achieve the minority,” “the most topic,” and “inaccebility to a certain type of books.” Use standard chart-reporting collocations and distinguish accurately between “very satisfied,” “fairly satisfied,” and “not satisfied.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise terms would strengthen the report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including an overview with a contrast introduced by “Conversely” and a sentence comparing the user groups. The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction and punctuation are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, the opening has the duplicated phrase “categories of of,” and the long overview sentence contains several clauses joined without consistent punctuation. There are also problems with articles, number, and sentence boundaries, as in “full-time undergraduate who are the majority” and the lower-case “for” beginning a new sentence. Aim for shorter, complete sentences, check singular and plural forms, and use commas and full stops consistently.
