Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both visuals and identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, followed by full-time postgraduates at 25% and part-time postgraduates at 16%. You also report several satisfaction results accurately, including the 65% very satisfied with opening hours and 95% with staff helpfulness. However, some comparisons are unclear or imprecise: academic staff (7%) and distance learners (8%) are close, but not identical, and “satisfied by 95” does not clearly identify the very-satisfied category. The overview is also limited; it would be stronger if it highlighted the generally high satisfaction and the comparatively weaker ratings for journals and Wi-Fi. Several table figures are described only vaguely, so some features are less fully reported than others.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic overall structure, moving from the user categories to the satisfaction table, and the reader can follow the broad topic. However, the opening paragraph repeats information that is then presented again in the second paragraph, while the response lacks a clear, concise overview of the main patterns. Connections between details are often mechanical or unclear: “moreover” does not add a contrasting point, and “also almost same” does not explain precisely how Wi-Fi compares with journal satisfaction. Organise the response into a brief introduction, an overview, and focused detail paragraphs. Use linking expressions only when their logical relationship is clear, and group related figures so the progression is easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the task, including “categories,” “satisfaction,” “availability,” and “reliability,” and the reader can generally understand which survey features you mean. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or too general. “The conclusion of a survey” is not the right description of the visual, and “Library opening hours are much satisfied” incorrectly makes the opening hours the people experiencing satisfaction. Phrases such as “at average in three categories” and “almost same” also lack precision. Use standard reporting language such as “the survey results show,” “respondents were very satisfied,” and “ratings were distributed across the three categories.” More precise vocabulary would help distinguish the satisfaction levels and make comparisons clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate the main information using mostly simple sentences, with some attempts to combine ideas, such as “Library opening hours are much satisfied by 65 and fairly satisfied by 35, moreover…”. However, there are some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and plurals. For example, “at a institute” needs the correct article, “Full-time undergraduate are” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “The full-time undergraduate at the top” is missing a verb. The long sentence joined by “moreover” also needs clearer punctuation and a more accurate grammatical structure. Aim for complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check singular/plural forms. A wider range of accurately controlled sentence patterns would make the report more fluent.
