Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response covers both visuals and gives a clear overview: undergraduates form the largest user group, while staff helpfulness and opening hours receive the strongest satisfaction ratings, and journals and Wi-Fi are less well rated. Most figures are reported accurately, including the user-group percentages and the satisfaction breakdowns. This strong coverage meets the task well. To make the summary more fully developed, clarify the comparison in the overview: journals have the highest dissatisfaction (20%), while Wi-Fi is also relatively low in very satisfied responses, but it is not the least-rated category on every measure. Also, “65% are satisfied” for opening hours is imprecise because 65% are specifically very satisfied; the remaining 35% are fairly satisfied.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by a paragraph on user categories and one on satisfaction. This makes the two visuals easy to follow, and sequencing expressions such as “Second highest,” “Third highest,” and “The second last” help signal comparisons. However, some links are mechanical or awkward, particularly the repeated ranking labels in the final paragraph, and “Regarding” and “In terms of” do not always lead into complete, smoothly connected sentences. The overview also compresses several comparisons into one sentence, making its relationship between the categories less clear. Use more natural transitions and group related satisfaction results without repeatedly ranking every item.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “survey,” “satisfaction,” “dissatisfied,” and “account,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, the range is somewhat limited and several choices or combinations are unnatural: “the biggest in pie chart,” “most satisfaction with helpfulness,” and “the one fourth of the pie chart” do not express the data idiomatically. “The last reliability of wifi” is also an awkward way to identify the lowest-rated category, and “wifi” should be written consistently as “Wi-Fi.” Aim for precise chart language such as “largest user group,” “one quarter,” and “highest proportion of very satisfied respondents.” More accurate collocations would make the report clearer and more formal.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response attempts both simple and more complex forms, and the main figures and comparisons remain understandable. However, some sentence structures are incomplete or poorly controlled. For example, “Overall, Full-time undergraduate students are the biggest in pie chart, whereas most satisfaction with helpfulness…” lacks a clear grammatical structure after “whereas.” The opening sentence is missing “of” in “results of a survey of people,” while “full-time postgraduate was the one fourth” has problems with article use and sentence construction. There are also agreement and clause-linking issues in “The second last availability of journals are…” and “Third highest availability of books, while…”. Build complete clauses with a clear subject and verb, and check articles, agreement, and punctuation when joining comparisons.
