Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You identify the main features of both visuals and give a clear overview: undergraduates form the largest user group, academic staff the smallest, staff helpfulness receives the strongest satisfaction, and journals attract the greatest dissatisfaction. The user-category figures are reported accurately, and you support the overview with relevant percentages. You also compare opening hours and books, showing that you have selected several important details rather than listing everything. However, the satisfaction discussion is incomplete: wi-fi is mentioned as close to journals, but its figures and comparison with other categories are not explained, and the claim that journals are the most dissatisfying could be supported more clearly by contrasting the 20% with wi-fi’s 19%. Overall, the task is addressed with relevant, supported features, though some comparisons are over-generalised.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for user categories and satisfaction results. This gives the reader a clear route through the two visuals, and sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover” help signal relationships. The overview also brings the main comparisons together effectively. However, the repeated use of “Moreover” and “Furthermore” makes some links feel mechanical, while the final paragraph becomes a long sequence of figures joined in similar ways. The reference in “the unavailability of journals” is also unclear because the table reports satisfaction, not availability itself. To strengthen progression, group related satisfaction results and use more precise links to show contrasts, such as comparing journals and wi-fi directly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough task-related vocabulary to communicate the main categories and comparisons, including “full-time undergraduate,” “very satisfied,” and “dissatisfied.” There are also attempts at more formal reporting language, such as “illustrates” and “standing at.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive: “uses the most 44% library” is not a natural way to report a proportion, and “Nil people are dissatisfied from it” is unclear. Spelling errors are frequent, including “diffrent,” “libraray,” “postgradute,” and “availabilty,” which can distract the reader. Aim for accurate phrases such as “accounted for 44%” and “no respondents were dissatisfied,” and proofread key chart vocabulary carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. The overview uses a useful contrast with “while,” and the response includes several clauses linked by “while” and “as.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent, with frequent errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “students uses” should be “students use,” and “the staff helpfulness” needs a more natural grammatical structure, such as “staff helpfulness.” Some sentences are also awkwardly formed, as in “the full time undergraduate students uses the most 44% library,” making the relationship between the group and percentage difficult to follow. Review subject–verb agreement and practise clear comparison structures, for example, “Undergraduates accounted for 44%, compared with 25% for full-time postgraduates.”
