Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both visuals and identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, followed by full-time postgraduates at 25%. You also report the remaining user categories and note the strong satisfaction with staff and opening hours. However, the overview is partly unclear: “least satisfied in availability of journals, wifi, and books” does not distinguish the lower ratings across these facilities, and opening hours are actually more highly rated than staff for “very satisfied” responses only in neither case (staff lead at 95%). Some table details are misinterpreted: 50% for books and 45% for journals are very satisfied, not neutral, and the 40% and 35% figures are fairly satisfied. A clearer overview and more precise comparisons would strengthen coverage.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to separate descriptions of the chart and table. This makes the information generally easy to follow, and phrases such as “Furthermore” and “However” signal relationships between points. At times, though, connections are mechanical or unclear. The overview’s “While rest of the three…” is not smoothly linked to the preceding statement, and the final table sentence combines several figures without clearly identifying which satisfaction category each belongs to. The phrase “all three types” is also confusing because the table presents three satisfaction levels, not three types of facilities. Use clearer topic sentences and group each facility with its very, fairly, and not-satisfied figures to improve progression and referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “availability,” “reliability,” and “satisfied,” so the main subject is usually clear. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “helping nature by the staff.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “the proportion of the library used” suggests an amount of library space, while “satisfactory data” and “library starting hours” do not express the intended meanings. Spelling errors such as “sastified” and “pecentages” also reduce precision. Choose standard chart language and use the table’s categories consistently, for example “very satisfied” and “fairly satisfied,” rather than “neutral satisfaction.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “However” and a relative clause in “individuals who were doing full time pg.” The overall meaning can generally be understood, but grammatical control is uneven. For example, “full time bachelors covers” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “students … shares” should use a plural verb. Sentence fragments also occur: “followed, by the full time master graduates at second” and “Whereas wifi’s reliability…” are not complete sentences in their current forms. Articles and sentence boundaries need attention in phrases such as “with an opening hours” and the long final sentence. Practise forming complete clauses and checking agreement, articles, and punctuation while retaining your attempts at varied sentence structures.
