Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You identify the main user groups accurately, including undergraduates as the largest group (44%) and academic staff as the smallest (7%), and your overview also highlights the strongest satisfaction result: staff helpfulness. You report several key satisfaction figures correctly and note that journals received the highest dissatisfaction share. This gives a clear account of both visuals. However, the comparison of satisfaction is somewhat selective: for example, you do not report the fairly satisfied or not satisfied figures for most services, and “least with the availability of journals” is imprecise because 45% were very satisfied with journals, while 20% were not satisfied. A more precise overview distinguishing satisfaction levels would make the comparisons more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories, and a final paragraph on satisfaction. This makes the main information easy to locate, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Conversely,” and “Compared to” help signal relationships. The organisation is coherent, but cohesion is not always smooth. The fragment beginning “While, part-time postgraduate…” is not properly connected to the preceding sentence, and “Among five” is an abrupt transition. The final paragraph also compresses several comparisons into one long sentence. To strengthen progression, use complete, balanced sentences and group satisfaction results into clearer comparisons, such as the two highest ratings and the lower ratings for journals and wi-fi.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “satisfied,” “availability,” and “reliability,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. However, the range and control are limited by repeated or imprecise expressions such as “users,” “satisfied,” and “least users.” Several spelling errors are noticeable, including “suvrvey,” “statisfa[c]tion,” “contibuting,” and “reliablity.” Some collocations are also unnatural: “highest visitor of a library” and “staff behavior” do not accurately express the chart categories. Aim for precise phrases such as “largest user group,” “accounted for,” and “satisfaction with staff helpfulness.” Proofreading spelling and choosing standard chart-reporting vocabulary would improve clarity and flexibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You attempt both simple statements and more complex comparisons, and the main message is usually understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, however. The opening sentence has subject–verb disagreement (“chart and table illustrates”) and an unclear singular construction (“a library services”). The overview includes “students were the highest visitor,” where the plural subject and complement do not agree, while “Among five” lacks a complete grammatical frame. In the final paragraph, the repeated pattern “65% to… 50% to…” omits a verb or preposition structure needed to make the comparisons complete. Use full clauses—for example, “Sixty-five per cent were very satisfied with the opening hours”—and check articles, agreement, and sentence completeness. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
