Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You report the main figures from both visuals accurately, including the largest user group (full-time undergraduates, 44%), the smallest (academic staff, 7%), and the satisfaction results for all five services. This gives the reader relevant coverage of the task. However, the response mainly lists figures rather than selecting and comparing the most important features, and it lacks a clear overview of the overall satisfaction pattern—for example, staff helpfulness received the strongest approval, while journals and Wi-Fi attracted the highest dissatisfaction. The opening merely repeats what the chart and table show, and the final sentence, “so, this the difference,” does not summarise a meaningful difference. A concise overview and more explicit comparisons would make the report more complete and developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response follows a basic order: it describes the user categories first and then moves to the satisfaction table. This helps distinguish the two visuals, and “Moreover” provides a transition to the next service. However, progression within the paragraphs is largely a repeated sequence of “The graph/table shows” followed by individual figures, so the report reads as a list rather than a connected summary. The opening and closing do little to guide the reader, and the final “difference between the graph and the table” is unclear because the visuals present different kinds of information. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs, group related satisfaction results, and connect comparisons with phrases such as “by contrast” or “whereas.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “satisfied,” “availability,” and “reliability,” and the service labels are generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, especially “The graph/table shows” and “the percentage were.” Some word choices are imprecise or awkward: “the result of a survey” does not clearly describe the visuals, and “the difference between the graph and the table” is not an accurate summary of their relationship. There are also spelling errors such as “survay,” “Acadmic,” and “Availablity.” Aim for concise reporting verbs and natural collocations, and check spelling carefully; this will make the description clearer and more appropriate to an academic report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most of the response uses simple sentence patterns, with little variety in how information is combined. Errors occur frequently and sometimes make the wording difficult to follow. For example, “The chart and table shows” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “Full time undergraduate library user were highest” has problems with number and sentence construction. In “the percentage were about 65%,” the singular subject also requires a singular verb. Several long sentences join multiple results with “and” without clear punctuation, and the closing “so, this the difference” is missing a verb. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, plural forms, and sentence boundaries, then combine related figures using controlled clauses such as “whereas” or “while.”
