Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the user categories and satisfaction results, and the main figures are generally reported accurately: undergraduates are the largest group at 44%, while academic staff are the smallest at 7%. You also identify helpful staff as the strongest satisfaction result and include comparisons across the other services. However, the overview is brief and does not bring out the broader pattern that dissatisfaction is absent for opening hours and staff helpfulness, but reaches 10–20% for books, journals and Wi-Fi. The statement that “most of the users are undergraduate” is also imprecise, since 44% is the largest share but not a majority. One figure is misreported as “205” rather than 20% for journals. A clearer, more selective overview and accurate reporting of this detail would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories and a paragraph on satisfaction. This makes the two sets of information easy to locate. Some progression is also signalled with phrases such as “Moving to the details” and “On the other hand.” However, the linking is sometimes mechanical, and the final paragraph becomes a long sequence of separate service results joined by “Moreover,” “Although,” and “But.” The relationship between ideas is not always clear, particularly in “Although 205 of users are not satisfied. regarding the internet.” Grouping the satisfaction figures into clearer comparisons—for example, the two areas with no dissatisfaction versus those with some—would improve flow and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for describing survey data, including “percentage,” “availability,” “satisfied,” and “distance learning,” so the topic remains understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. “Very contended” and “fairly contend” are not suitable ways to describe satisfaction; “very satisfied” and “fairly satisfied” are the appropriate forms. “Internet of library” is also unclear, while “library Wi-Fi” would be more precise. There are spelling or typing errors such as “ver” and “205” for 20%, which reduce accuracy. Aim to use a consistent set of precise terms for satisfaction levels and the services being assessed.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and most of the information can be understood. There are, however, recurring errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns. For example, “The data has been recorded in percentage” would be clearer as “The data are presented as percentages,” and “most of users” needs an article: “most of the users.” The sentence beginning “On the other hand, library user satisfaction, for library opening hours…” is not a complete, well-formed structure; use a direct subject and verb, such as “For opening hours, 65% of users were very satisfied.” Capitalisation after a full stop is also inconsistent in “regarding the internet.” More controlled sentence patterns would make the comparisons easier to follow.
