Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify both parts of the visual and include several relevant figures, such as 7% for academic staff, 8% for distance learners, and 25% and 16% for the two postgraduate groups. However, some key information is misreported: 44% refers to full-time undergraduates, not postgraduates, and the claim that users are “least satisfied” with books is inaccurate because journals have the lowest very-satisfied figure (45%) and the highest dissatisfaction (20%). The overview is also too general to highlight the main contrasts, such as staff helpfulness receiving the strongest satisfaction and opening hours receiving no dissatisfaction. Several table details are omitted or unclear, so the task is only partly addressed. A more accurate overview and carefully selected comparisons would strengthen the report.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt to separate the user categories from satisfaction information, and the final paragraph signals an overall summary. However, the progression is difficult to follow because ideas are crowded together, with little clear paragraph structure and few reliable links between points. For example, the sentence beginning “Howoften fulltime postgraduates used” shifts abruptly into several user-group figures, while the satisfaction paragraph repeats opening-hours information and then moves to books, journals and wi-fi without a clear comparison. Some references, such as “them” and “it,” are unclear. Organise the response into a clear introduction, an overview, and two focused detail paragraphs, grouping related figures and using linking phrases to show contrasts.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “satisfaction,” “availability,” and “dissatisfaction,” and attempts to describe comparisons with phrases such as “higher than.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear. For instance, “the satisfaction shows by library users” is not a natural way to describe survey results, and “spend most of their time in library” is unsupported and does not accurately describe the chart’s percentages. Spelling errors such as “librrary,” “satusfied,” and “compaare” also distract the reader. Use precise terms such as “accounted for,” “rated,” and “very satisfied,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences and comparisons, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors often make the relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Examples include “The below chart and table shows,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “only 7%academic users used library,” which lacks clear sentence structure and necessary grammatical words. The sentence about postgraduates combines several clauses without effective punctuation, making the figures hard to interpret. There is also inconsistent use of articles and plural forms, as in “in library” and “library users.” Build accuracy first with clear simple sentences, then add controlled comparisons using structures such as “whereas” and “compared with.”
